Nope, but please provide a source if you are.
Re: Rayman 3
Wow that looks really fucking neato, the lighting really compliments the environment. A remake would really do the game justice, I'd love to see the game completely rebuild from the ground up - imagine the hollow trunk was all bushy and thorny inside, and the fairy council has stunning reflection in the sky. The Bog of Murk could actually have swampland extending out into the distance, Clearleaf Forest with realistic light rays coming through the trees, etc.gamerz31w wrote:hey guys look at this amazing Unreal Engine 4 Rayman 3 replica

Re: Rayman 3
I asked the dude whether or not he was planning to do a full remaster of Rayman 3, but unfortunately, he said basically it would be too much work. He also stated that he don't know much about programming AI. Hopefully he can maybe learn more about it in the future, cause it looks amazing!
Seems he's posting about it on the French forum: viewtopic.php?t=25179

I guess Adsolution got better programming experience than him.

I don't recall this track at all
Re: Rayman 3
Doesn't that music play when you fight the armored Hoodlum who sends the little ones out from his crotch. I might be completely wrong though.

Re: Rayman 3
So, I was watching this old trailer, and it got me wondering, when were the FMVs for Rayman 3 generated? A lot of the FMV stuff in that trailer is seen in the final game, but not all of it. Stuff like Murfy getting dazed, or Reflux turning away in shame and of course, that scene where Rayman suddenly turns around in his Rayman 2 form don't show. But the overall scenes do seem to be in the final game as is, did they simply cut out items which were no longer relevant? Or did they generate new FMVs?
EDIT: Right looking at it again, that scene where Andre talks to Reflux is definitely different, so I'm guessing they did generate new FMVs for some parts.

Re: Rayman 3
That's something I always wondered, because I am sure the cinematics were already made because initially Rayman was going to keep the R2 look and some 3D screenshots show that. They must have changed their mind later, concerned that Rayman wouldn't look "that good" for kids and teenagers.
I can live with the modern Rayman design but I always felt an unnecessary change.
Re: Rayman 3
Looking at that trailer again, it's quite clear some FMVs were unfinished. Reflux's animation when turning away in shame is way too stiff and Rayman's pose (in his R2 model) at 1:46 is just weird.
I also never noticed before how they tease that Rayman's evil look with red eyes at 1:56 transitions into the Hoodlum's red eyes at 1:58 (only shown for a split-second). It's definitely a deliberate choice, so I wonder if this means Rayman was originally connected to the Hoodlums, or "the power of the Leptys" made him become like them somehow. A "dark Rayman", if you will. I always felt the power we got was quite anticlimactic, so this must have been it.
And it was probably scrapped before the upgrade to the new design, since the trailer shows that the rest of that FMV already had his new design, and only this part didn't.
It's great when a trailer can get you to think like this with a specific combination of shots. Really a well-directed trailer with cool imagery overall. Best R3 trailer.

Re: Rayman 3
When I first watched this trailer as a kid, I interpreted that scene as Gumsi trying to kill Rayman through a divine power (I didn't know what Leptys was at the time). But instead, it failed, and the whole glowing eyes was Rayman preparing to unleash a sort of hidden primordial power from within, the trailer starts synching the intensity of the glow in his eyes with the Horrible Machine slowly beginning to collapse and explode kinda gave such an impression.
Joys of watching a trailer without knowing little of what the scenes actually were, combined with a young imagination. Don't really get that anymore. Still, I think that trailer ranks amongst one of my favourites for the Rayman series. It's probably a bit on the edgy scale, but I liked how epic it made Rayman 3 seem.

Re: Rayman 3
Yeah and then Rayman 3 ended up being the Shrek of the series soon after release. Not a bad thing, just ironic when given the trailers' presentation.

I'm pretty sure that's the joke…Drolpiraat wrote:I always felt the power we got was quite anticlimactic
On a more serious note, the mercenary nature of the Leptys confused me no end as a child. I was sure the Leptys and Gumsi were good guys, since they help Rayman defeat the black lums. And yet the Leptys was also helping André. So I figured that Reflux's ultimate death and disintegration were punishment for trying to use the Leptys' power to help its ancient enemies, the black lums.
Re: Rayman 3
Of course, in the game itself, that is indeed the joke.PluMGMK wrote:I'm pretty sure that's the joke…Drolpiraat wrote:I always felt the power we got was quite anticlimactic
I was thinking in the context of how they were teasing it to be more than that in the trailer, with R2 Rayman's red eyes transitioning into the Hoodlum's red eyes. Considering they cut that part of the FMV completely (well, almost completely - see below), it makes me think the nature of the power was changed, and perhaps it wasn't supposed to be a joke before the change.
The trailer shows that the red eyes thing originally took place after receiving the power, i.e. Rayman gets lifted by a ring of energy, receives a power, lands, turns around, and goes full edgelord. The cutscene in the final version of the game ends after Rayman lands instead, and repurposes a few frames of the red-eyed stare in a flash right before Rayman gets lifted into the air.
Since it took place after getting the power, it does seem to imply the red-eyed thing was part of the power. And since the editor of the trailer deliberately chose to compare Rayman's red eyes to the Hoodlum's for a few frames, as if teasing a connection, I still think that this power was quite different from what we got.
The editor also overlayed that same Hoodlum on a Horrible Machine scene at 2:28 just so they could end the trailer with the Hoodlum's mouth fading into the Ubisoft logo (which is an amazing piece of editing, actually), though, so perhaps they just thought it looked cool and threw it in at various places.

The following is pure fanfiction on my part, but wouldn't it have been amazing if Rayman got "ultimate power" from the Leptys, became super strong and also evil (as implied by the red eyes), but ultimately decided to reject the power and trade it for the grimace power that we got? It would have been similar to the "No treasure for me!" choice in R2, and more importantly, it would have foreshadowed how the Leptys's power would end up transforming Reflux into an ultra-powerful and evil demigod. It would have made the story and the nature of the Leptys more logical, I think.

Re: Rayman 3
Part of me wants it to be the old trailer music. But I got no idea.
