Looking forward for this, Rib! :D

That's awesome! I stopped working on my own hackier version of that due to how fucking shitty it was (aside from the looping audio, that was cool), so I'm glad to see that someone else was able to figure it out, and properly. I'd still love to see the music loop nicely though.

That's great, hopefully we can get the soundtrack to be the same as it was for the PlayStation.

Though will you take requests on which levels use which music?

Also will it be possible to fix the low pitched sounds?

Maybe you should try to use the fair settings-preset instead of the nice one.

I think my version ran faster when running as admin, though I can't remember since it's been a while since I tried Optimum.

Don't you have to run Optimum as admin for it to work at all?

Yeah, I remember many people had issues when running Rayman Optimum without admin rights.

I've got some really good news. I've been able to locate the table of which music tracks are played in which level inside the EXE, and editing it works! Thanks to this, I should be able to partially restore the soundtrack to how it should be. I'll continue working on this and maybe release it soon.

You, kind sir, are a god among men! I have a few requests though.

1. Could you make a patch that works with the GOG version of this game?

2. Could you also restore the ting SFX? Also, just as a reminder in case you do, the pitch on them sometimes increases. I don't know exactly what causes that to happen though.

3. Is it also possible for you to restore other themes in the game that were not restored in the video, such as the level clear / boss clear / first level start in new world themes?

Well, I think I could go some way towards answering your questions.
1. I do believe this is already based on the GOG version.
2. Well, in the PC version, the pitch on the Tings does change just like in the other versions. It's just a much more bland sound overall. I don't know if it would be possible to get the PlayStation Ting sound into the PC version. I'll let the experts answer that!
3. That would involve changing the music in the middle of the level, which is more complicated that just changing what music plays in each level. I guess the "boss clear" theme from the PlayStation version could be put in fairly easily though, since the PC version already changes the music after a boss fight.

Also, just a hint: if you want to quote someone, use the quote button. It's the one with a giant quotation mark on it. If you do that, the person you're quoting gets a notification. ;)

Working on it now! I want to make sure that this is as good as it can be, so it might take a while.

Since we're getting another year since the last preview of the "per level soundtrack"-thing, I decided to continue our anual ritual of developping and previewing a manipulation of the Rayman 1 soundtrack for PC. Here is my contribution: I wonder who will be the one contributing next year :P

I disapprove of the amount of cheating in this video. :tssk:
