Re: Rayman 3
I need to click share to community right?
Re: Rayman 3
I don't know if you can directly upload pictures here, but you can just upload it to dropbox or google drive, and put the link here. Actually I've never shared pictures here directly, only trough cloud-storages

Re: Rayman 3
The URL works: http://imgur.com/a/BQM7T
Re: Rayman 3
Wow, it doesn't show URL at all for me
Nothing that I could click on, just normal text. Weird... Anyway I'm gonna check that picture now, see if I can find something.
Okay, I'm not sure, but I might found a solution, though I want to check out myself first, to make sure, it doesn't make anything even worse. I'm installing Rayman 3 right now, so maybe in 30 minutes I will post what I've found out. The reason why you wasn't able to find Vertex Processing is because it's not there. I've just checked some pages, and they all used a different control panel, maybe an old one. I have the one as you, so I might figure something out. But if it won't work, sorry for making you run circles unnecessary

Re: Rayman 3
I got the URL by right-clicking the "Image" text.
Re: Rayman 3
True, I didn't tried that...PluMGMK wrote:I got the URL by right-clicking the "Image" text.
But with the game... So, when I first launched the game, it was as in the video I linked earlier. Changing Trilinear and the other thingy to 0 (they were 1 in the begininng, but if you change it, and try to save it, you have to launch Notepad++ as administrator) it became much more playable. Yeah, some places (mainly the big root of the tree in the beginning, where you have to fly under it) missed the texture. There were black spots in it. I guess, I've always gotten only this far in making the game playable (and enjoyable), so I guess this is the most I can help with. The intel one, it didn't changed anything, so I guess it's unnecessary to mess with that.

Re: Rayman 3
Yeah there are some black spots in the beginning but some parts of The Fairy Council had many missing textures and some parts had no textures at all.
But now it's more playable
Thanks for all the help

Re: Rayman 3
I had a similar issue when updating to Windows 10 (also with Intel) and I got it fixed by using a dll file RibShark sent me. You can always try and see if it works for you as well. I've uploaded it here, so just place it in your Rayman 3 install folder and try running it. You might want to try running as admin as well. Also, did you install DirectPlay when that was prompted?raymanrules77 wrote:Check out how The Desert of the Knaaren looks like on my computer:

Re: Rayman 3
Yeah i think so but i'm not sure.
Where can i see if i have installed it?
The DLL file did fix the problem but the game is now very laggy but atleast there are no more dark spots.

Re: Rayman 3
That dll works just fine for me on win8.1 x64, no black spots, no FPS drops or laggs. Time to replay Rayman 3 in it's full glory.
Re: Rayman 3
Yeah, for some reason the game started lagging insanely like a month ago or so. I'm assuming it's related to a Windows update since it worked fine at first. I sadly enough don't know how to fix it.
Re: Rayman 3
But so far it seems it's only a windows 10 problem, as I don't have any laggs, neither with nor without the dll.

Re: Rayman 3
Redstone or non-Redstone?
Re: Rayman 3
No idea, but I've got the latest version at least (since it auto-updates and it's a hassle to turn it off). So as far as I can tell, starting from Win8 some users are experiencing texture issues where they're either black or display incorrectly. The dll fixes it, and works fine on Win8 and early versions of Win10, though causes lagg in the current version of Win10. Well, the issue seems to be DirectX related but I really don't know much about these things.

Re: Rayman 3
Solution: ditch Windows, use Linux+Wine instead.
Actually RibShark's patch doesn't (yet) work with Wine, so that's far from ideal too...
Re: Rayman 3
I wanted to give the same advice actually, but didn't know if it runs actually. Only played Rayman 2 with wine, but you can also try using a virtualbox with Windows xp installed. Since you can disable internet connection in virtualbox, the lack of official support won't be a problem, because you can't get viruses on it. It might not be the most comfortable and easiest solution, but it works fine.

Re: Rayman 3
It's been a while since I last played R3 with Wine, but I can confirm that it is certainly possible, and when it works it works really well.

Re: Rayman 3
I agree with Droolie here, yet I believe that the magic touch was a lot more present in Rayman 2.Drolpiraat wrote:That place may be the best thing in the entirety of Rayman 3 and a pinnacle of world design. It actually has a pretty dark story behind it!
And it's stuff like this that caused me to react so harshly to Rayman Origins and Legends which don't come anywhere close to this in terms of world design.
Drolpiraat wrote:Yep, through their singing the Griskin tribe woke up the Great Spirit Palmito, after which he proceeded to kill them all and imprison their spirits in the Spirit Tower. You can hear their moaning in the music (even when you're outside) and if you listen closely, you can even hear the dead writhe in the music when you're inside the tower!
Me neither, I'll try to check it out tonight as I'm really curious now.PluMGMK wrote:TBH never realized that until I listened to the OST on its own, crept me the hell out!
Yep, the Land is by far my favorite level in Rayman 3. It's definitely the most magical, the landscapes are beautiful, the music is enchanting, and I love how it gets significantly darker as the player progresses. How they reused its name in the UbiArt games for a completely different environment is a bit of a disgrace, really. I mean, that Land of the Livid Dead is cool and all, but it doesn't even compare to the original one.Yharu wrote:Land of the Living Dead is indeed my favourite level in R3! A thing I loved in particular about it, apart from the graphic, was the ambient. Some of those are very creepy but I love the heck out of them! In the ambient "Begoniax's Cellar" you can hear some soft whispers and it just makes shivers creepin' down my spine.
That was an awesome music indeed.The_Real_Razorbeard wrote:The Hoodoo was my favorite though, as I was also a fan of wizards when I was younger (Though I wasn't that into Harry Potter, surprisingly), and liked their lanky, slim designs besides. Not to mention that music. It was the best track in the game and the devs clearly knew it, seeing as it played during the credits too.
The main reason for that is that the humor in Rayman 3 is built on two different levels: slapstick, which will amuse kids but may not appeal to them anymore as they grow up, and more adult themes, such as alcohol and sex, to which older players can relate. I found it very efficient and it explains why there's people of all ages that find the game funny.Dart wrote:Personally I think I've come to appreciate the comedy from this game a lot as I've gotten older, a lot of games that are comedy heavy like Ratchet & Clank don't hold up nearly as well today.The_Real_Razorbeard wrote:Plus, they had a striking leader, too: André, the Dark Lum Lord. What a selfish, whiny, bully he was. Although I've grown to somewhat resent the more comedy-themed approach the game took in my adult years, I'll admit that André was a fun villain, regardless.
I'd expect Knaaren duels to be fairer, which means that either Reflux wouldn't have his sceptre, or the other Knaaren would have one too. And even if it weren't the case, them not being quite as smart as Rayman may have led Reflux's opponents to use brute force against him rather than intelligently target the sceptre.Maz wrote:I know, but that still doesn't explain why other Knaaren (supposedly invincible) can't win against him. If they really couldn't be harmed, why wouldn't they just walk up to him and punch the sceptre? Whether you actually hit Reflux or just his sceptre, the fact remains that he has some sort of weakness. So what makes him the strongest Knaaren then?
