Shrooblord wrote:Man, it feels sort of lame to "leave it up to somebody else" if everyone's so reluctant to do it. That's not the kind of tone I'd like to set in a friendly competition.

Master, could you give a clearer indication as to when this round would take place? I have an important deadline today and a party late in the evening, so I wouldn't really be availble today, but tomorrow could work for me very well, for example.

That's me signing up for candidate because I do feel like I would enjoy doing the round itself; my previous comment was just to gauge others on their knowledge of the series or their willingness to do the round. That is to say, if Tunderos or Carrot were eager to do this round, I was giving them a chance to step forwards, but if none of the others are "feeling it" for this one, I'll be more than happy to be our team's 'champion in battle'.
PluMGMK wrote:I believe the "when" is whenever both people are available. But that in itself could pose problems I guess. Shroob, if you think you'd like to do it then you have my vote. I think I'd surely screw it up, with my avalanches of typos and IRL cursing that seem to happen all too often these days.
Right, that's two votes for Shroob and one for Carrot. Are you guys ok with this? Or do you wish to deliberate further? Seeing as we're practically at the deadline now, I want you guys to be completely sure about your nomination before I start planning out the timing for the tiebreaker.

I'd like to be our champion! Exciting! Wish me luck folks!

I'm available today after 12:00 but before 19:00. Tuesday isn't great. Wednesday works after 16:30. Thursday after 13:00. Friday-Sat-Sun won't work this week.

If that helps the planning...

Which timezone is that? I'll assume GMT+0, correct me if I'm wrong.

Going off GMT+0, I'm in uni today and probably won't be free until around 18:00, so it'll be a narrow window if we do it today

I'll be free most of Wednesday and after 12:00 Tuesday, will be very busy on Thursday. With that in mind, it seems 16:30+ Wednesday seems best.

I'm in the Holland timezone. So that's GMT+1 currently? I know it shifts up one in either Summer or Winter time, for. Some confusing reason.

Wednesday 16:30+ sounds good to me!

Edit
Aaahh timezones!!

So that's 17:30 in Holland time, right? x)

I believe so, though if you're free from 16:30 GMT+1, then I can start from 15:30 GMT+0 onwards. Just need Ray to confirm.
Ray502 wrote:Gotcha, that doesn't seem too hard to handle. Just for some heads up I''ll be available for the Finger Round anytime from 3:00 PM Central European time to 2:00 AM, Central European time.
Given what we've discussed, will you be available during Wednesday at the times above?

Let me try to do this correctly.

15:30 GMT+0 = 10:30 AM EST

Works for me!

Right, the tiebreaker has occurred, and both Ray502 and Shroob played very well indeed. However, Ray502 was able to win the Tiebreaker, meaning that Team A are through to round 2!

The Tiebreaker Results:
Question 1
Starting from the largest, put these games in order of the total amount of cages they have:

A - Rayman 3
B - Rayman Origins
C - Rayman 1
D - Rayman Legends
E - Rayman 2

Answer: DBCEA
Ray502 answered correctly, Team A has 1 point.

Question 2
Starting from the eldest, put these characters in order of their canonical age:

A - Polokus
B - Globox
C - Ly
D - Jano

Answer: ADCB, but I would have also accepted ACDB, as there's a little bit of leeway when it comes to the fairies and Jano.
Ray502 was the quickest, Team A has 2 points.

Question 3
Starting with the longest, put these powerups in order of their longevity:

A - Heavy Metal Fist
B - Shock Rocket
C - Vortex
D - Funkycopter
E - Lockjaw

Answer: ECABD
Ray502 was the quickest, Team A has 3 points.

Question 4 - Attempt 1
Starting with the earliest, put the characters in the order they are unlocked:

A - DarkRay
B - First Grand Minimus
C - Glombrox
D - Flaming Teensy

Answer: DBAC
Neither were correct, retry.

Question 4 - Attempt 2
Starting with the earliest, put these characters in the order they're encountered in Rayman 3:

A - Hoodboom
B - Hoodmonger Soldier
C - Slapdash
D - Heckler
E - Hoodoo

Answer: CBAED
Ray502 answered correctly, Team A has 4 points.

Question 5
Starting with the weakest, put these enemies in order of the amount of attacks needed to be defeated:

A - Foutch
B - Grolgoth
C - Axel
D - Ninjaws

Answer: CADB
Shrooblord answered correctly, Team B has 1 point.

Commiserations to the great players of Team B, you guys played very well, and I will be sending you your reward tings shortly. Be sure to keep popping by to see how things are going!

ROUND 2
And then there were 5!
Here's the new team listings for Round 2!

Team A
  • Ray502
  • CHRdutch
Team B
  • Ambidextroid
  • Harpic
  • Hunchman801
Well done to Ray502 for breaking the tie. Team A goes through and are guaranteed a 500 ting reward. But who will be fighting for the ultimate ting prize? Let's find out! I want to start on Friday. You guys know the drill, nominate your team captain on this thread, and let's continue the Teensies Quiz!

That Lightning round was brutal! Ray was a very worthy adversary who was as quick with Rayman 3 questions as I am with Rayman 2 ones. Heheh and then both of us got the Origins question wrong. Typical. :P

It was very fun but I apologise to my team, who gave me the honour of being their champion. Alas, I have failed you in battle and fallen! May the other team be at each other's throats in the coming battle and rise but one as final victor...! Our time here is over... farewell, cruel Quiz...

I'll vote for Ray502, as always. :fou:

Even though I have a feeling that winning the 2 vs 3 is not impossible(WTF M8 HOW CUD U SAE SUCH THINGS ECOMANIAC!1!1!), the time zone differences can be a small problem, but not game-breaking.

Well, there's a time limit and I'm a bastard who sleeps ~10 hours during the weekends. So I might miss out on a question in the case a that question gets asked during that time period.

But as I said in my previous post:
-> IT'S NOT GAMEBREAKING <-

So it's not a that big of a problem, I can always check when the question expires.

-----[Edit]-----

Thinking about it, I guess that it wasn't worth mentioning in the first place. :fou:

Well I sleep a lot as well, so I can relate. The good thing is you know exactly when the deadlines are, so with the help of the technological wonders that are alarms, you should be fine.
