< is interested in acquiring English with Rayman. But alas, <'s search for a copy online has so far been unsuccessful.

Re: The You Game!
< just found out that not only < will have to do the writing section of the finals, < also has to go to the dentist after that. These 6 months go by too fast.

Re: The You Game!
< does remember seeing some old YouTube videos with speedrunning tricks for R2. < remembers watching this guy's videos back in ye olde days. < imagines that there's plenty more newer tricks and the like these days, but < guesses it's a start.Attheshows wrote:<Wonders if there's any speedrunning tricks for Rayman 2.
Also, see if you can get into contact with Got4n and Ribshark, they're both active players in the speedrunning community, < thinks they might be able to point you in the right direction.

Re: The You Game!
< thinks that while it makes sense for Rayman 3, where there's an active scoring community that keep pushing the limits of the game, it probably doesn't matter much for Rayman 2. Even if all Lums have been collected in the previous levels, a direct save to a certain level is still better than no save at all.Master wrote:< believes the problem stems with the philosophy behind RaySaves, RoboticTeensie intended it to be a place where you could get "clean" saves. Where no progress had been made in the saves, i.e. barring levels, they were at 0% completion. This was accomplished by hacking the saves, if memory serves. Something that can't be done with Rayman 2.
< thinks it's a good idea. Let's take the discussion to the RaySaves thread.Ambidextroid wrote:<'s sure you could do something like that with ActionReplay codes on other systems.
Edit: < just found this, which seems to provide codes for clean selectable levels on N64. If anyone's interested < could go through them and make some save files.

Re: The You Game!
Hmm, though in that case, wouldn't it be easier to just use the "gothere" cheat? It saves a lot of hassle from having to muck about with the weirdness that is Rayman 2's save games.
That being said, < does agree that we could do with expanding to other platforms, and Ambi's cheat sheet looks promising.

Re: The You Game!
< woke up really early today.
Re: The You Game!
< can hack the Rayman 2 saves just fine (although < is unsure whether < could unlock the sanctuaries without the required lums, but it is more likely than not), the trouble is that Rayman 2 has multiple files that are used to save. Actually, when < thinks of it, < could probably just put the save folders in a .zip file and upload them.

Re: The You Game!
<'s decided to try out LineageOS for <'s old Moto G, <'s just unlocked its bootloader. Now to see if < can install a custom recovery, then flash the LineageOS ROM.
Heh, < remembers when < used to be able to wake up early on off-days, though perhaps the staying up late might have something to do with it.Bradandez wrote:< woke up really early today.
On the topic of RaySaves, < thinks < mentioned this before to someone, < can't remember if it was to you or Humch. < was wondering if it'd be possible to have the site contain a link to go back to the portal, presently, there's no way to navigate back when you're navigating within RaySaves.RibShark wrote:< can hack the Rayman 2 saves just fine (although < is unsure whether < could unlock the sanctuaries without the required lums, but it is more likely than not), the trouble is that Rayman 2 has multiple files that are used to save. Re: The You Game!
< is considering completely rebuilding RaySaves (possibly taking inspiration from the new RayTunes design), but < doesn't know whether < will have the time to do it though. In the mean time, < will try and put a link back to the portal.

That reminds <, how's the new RayTunes design going? < forgot what the link was and couldn't find it anywhere, but last < remembers it was pretty nifty

< thinks ^'s best asking in the RayTunes thread, though Droolie seems to pop in now and then, mind.

Yeah, < thinks hUMCH should be punished for that! A 1,000,000-ting deduction will probably help.
