Re: Rayman Legends
Ah for Pete's sake…
For a game with so much DRM there should at least be some kind of basic Anti-Cheat system!

Re: Rayman Legends
After playing my Switch, I can't wait for more info on Rayman Legends DE. I'm not getting my hopes too high, I'm just mildly hopeful,
Re: Rayman Legends
What is more annoying, there are always a few people in the challenges with a 0' 0" record. I don't care if it's fun for them, but there's no point in playing if there's just no valid first place to fight for.Ray502 wrote:I checked the record for amount of Lums collected in the game, and this one guy has his amount at 1,000,009,984. Re: Rayman Legends
Particularly sucks given that there's an achievement for getting a Diamond Trophy, if memory serves.
EDIT: Nevermind, double checked, I don't think there was one for that.

Re: Rayman Legends
What I'd really like them to do is clean out the Invasion level scores. There's one that has a few negative scores on it.
Re: Rayman Legends
The Vita version has a trophy for that, which is pretty ridiculous when now there are only like 3 or so players getting diamond.Master wrote:Particularly sucks given that there's an achievement for getting a Diamond Trophy, if memory serves.

As for cheaters, I believe it's only the PC version that's an issue for. All others version seem to have pretty clean leaderboards.
Re: Rayman Legends
Who ever thought it was a good idea to put a Diamond Trophy as an achievement?

Re: Rayman Legends
Yeah. But you can't see them because you're panicking while sliding at full speed. What a normal gamer with zero knowledge on the game design would do is get scared for the sudden fall, try to go back, and die miserably. It's the psychology of game design. In a moment of huge tension and fast movement, the player thinks about safety rather than completion. That's why this...Hunchman801 wrote:That's the only example of that he ever gave, and it's completely invalid anyway as those Tings clearly indicate that it's safe to go.

^Back to Legends, at 0:51 in the video for example, you have absolutely no way to know that spiky fish will fall from the sky and that you're only safe well under the surface. You'll have to die to find out (or just be really lucky) and that happens all the time in that level. I didn't have any problems with the other music levels though.
... is genius game design. You're never supposed to hit the fish, because you can easily see that going to the surface would only make you slower and wouldn't take you anywhere, and the screen is clearly moving to the right, so you're supposed to keep your pace. Think about it this way: if you went to the surface and there were no spiky fish... you would still die, since you'd move slower and the Eel would catch you. The game designers are completely aware of the player's movement patterns, so they decided to make the fish a cosmetic choice for the level.
Rayman Legends isn't perfect, but it certainly learned from the game design flaws of Rayman 1.Hunchman801 wrote: My point? Not that the gameplay of the original Rayman is perfect, especially by today's standards. Just that people often criticize it for containing stuff that they don't mind in Rayman Legends, and that's pretty hypocritical.

Re: Rayman Legends
There isn't, but if I recall correctly those trophies give you five times as many awesomeness points as the gold ones, which means that unless you're going to play the game for months on a daily basis, you pretty much need them to reach the last level of awesomeness and therefore one the achievements.Master wrote:Particularly sucks given that there's an achievement for getting a Diamond Trophy, if memory serves.

Fair enough, but I there again it's pretty much the same with those levels in Origins and Legends where stuff pops up in front of you all the time: you eventually understand that you have to let the game guide you... and have good reflexes.sergiomonty wrote:Yeah. Haha, I never realized Rayman swam faster underwater. Anyway, I did not necessarily mean staying on the surface, because the fish will still kill you if you are, say, in the upper half of the body of water.sergiomonty wrote:You're never supposed to hit the fish, because you can easily see that going to the surface would only make you slower and wouldn't take you anywhere, and the screen is clearly moving to the right, so you're supposed to keep your pace. Well I agree indeed. It would suck if no progress had been made in twenty years of video games!sergiomonty wrote:Rayman Legends isn't perfect, but it certainly learned from the game design flaws of Rayman 1.

Re: Rayman Legends
I tought we might get some new information about what to expect from the Switch edition... Well, maybe next time. Still, it was good to read this, I didn't know, they had no idea in the beginning about what to do with the Wii U's touch-screen, and they had to make a meeting, to come up with some ideas.Haruka wrote:An interview was just shared in the official Twitter page of Rayman: http://www.shacknews.com/article/99305/ ... an-legends
Re: Rayman Legends
There are interesting stuff revealed in it. The music levels weren't planned at first, it was a bit accidental the implementation in the game.

Re: Rayman Legends
That's not even the intended path; the person in the video only did that because they were aware you could. You can reach that platform via other means, and if you progress further in the level, you can see the landing zone and are able to backtrack in order to figure out how to get there (properly).sergiomonty wrote:Yeah. So that example doesn't count.

Re: Rayman Legends
I was pretty freaking pissed about this since the Vita version was my primary way to play the game, I mean the game practically became incompleteable trophy wise because I couldnt beat the same 5 people that played the Vita version on a daily basis and were significantly better than me for it.Carrot-master wrote:The Vita version has a trophy for that, which is pretty ridiculous when now there are only like 3 or so players getting diamond.Master wrote:Particularly sucks given that there's an achievement for getting a Diamond Trophy, if memory serves.

Well I still don't have my Kung Foot achievement.
Re: Rayman Legends
I can help you out if you're playing on PS4. I need that same trophy as well.Hunchman801 wrote:Well I still don't have my Kung Foot achievement.

Re: Rayman Legends
I have a PS4 but my Rayman Legends is the PS3 version, too bad.
Re: Rayman Legends
Well I don't think anyone can help you then since the PS3 doesn't support online for Legends. Otherwise I could have helped you there since I own the PS3 version as well. Don't you have another controller you can use though? A PS4 controller will work with the PS3, so since you've got a PS4 you could probably just use a PS4 controller for the second player and get it yourself.

Re: Rayman Legends
Do you mean I can get it by using a second controller? I always thought it was an online thing.
Re: Rayman Legends
Yeah, in fact you can only get it by using a second controller.
