The boon though was moreso because HCtS and YS were posted so casually as favourites immediately after a list of 10 or so more researched favourites were just posted, as if their grounds for favouritsm lie on the same level.

< doesn't see why they're any less worthy of being favourites. < just couldn't choose as many as 10 favourite songs and as <'s said <'s top favourites are Rocky Raccoon and Blackbird. < simply felt the need to respond by elaborating on <'s favourites and those were the first to come to mind. Admittedly much less thought went into <'s choosing HCtS and YS than the list of 10, and if < really thought about it < could make a decisive list of each song < likes and in which order, but < still genuinely really likes HCtS and YS (for particular nostalgic reasons mostly, <'s brother used to listen to these two a lot) so they are still undoubtedly favourites of <'s and < doesn't see why it was boon worthy.

< personally wouldn't have the gall to name a favourite song by someone without getting to know a lot of their work first. If < already did that and still picked those songs as their favourites by the artist, then < questions why they'd rather name some very average, reasonably catchy track as their favourite over some of their infinitely more brilliant work.

< does listen to the Beatles a lot and while < likes almost all of their music for different reasons < just happens to like those two particularly, be it for nostalgia or pure musical taste. < just happens not to think that they're average or reasonably catchy, but instead very good pieces of music.
