Fifo was obviously disappointed he didn't make it, but there's nothing even remotely offensive about what he said. If there was some kind of discourse that went down with him in private, why is ^ bringing it up in public? < thinks that's incredibly inappropriate, not only because it's Fifo, and not only because it's done completely out of context in an attempt to embarrass him, ^ was literally just promoted and < has never seen ^ make a post this condescending before.

And not only that, Fifo conceded immediately afterward:

Is ^ serious? Firstly, what kind of a response is that? Secondly, how the fuck does whining or moping about a missed/screwed up opportunity warrant a ting deduction in any context whatsoever unless it's derailing a topic? That's such an unbelievably shitty thing to do.

Fifo and modship have had a very odd and storied relationship, and < was reminded of what happened to a previous moderator's choice thread due to ^'s antics. As such when < eventually did see that response in the You Game, < snapped. < agrees in retrospect that it was excessive and needlessly harsh, and for that, < humbly and sincerely apologises to Fifo, ^ for it. The ting deduction threat was < trying to be pre-emptive against Fifo making any further posts of the sort, though again, perhaps a needless and unwarranted threat for < to give.

As for the second point. To an extent, < agrees. < remembers when we did these sort of posting sprees in 2013, we were told and < hopes followed the advice that we keep to game threads and stay out of ones like this. < thinks it may be best if such activity is limited as such again.

< would think that because that sound is split between two syllables ('per' and 'mne') it doesn't break any 'rules'?
< doesn't really know those rules though.

< thinks that having the "mne" in one syllable is what causes the problem. < isn't sure if it would be kosher to resyllabify it to "perm-ne", which would make everything easier. (Though "perm" in an unstressed syllable is a bit much too!)
