"Harmony" a fanmade tribute album to Rayman 1 OST

Hey guys !

I'm Hashel and I'm a VGM Cover artist on youtube, i do guitar/bass/synth covers of my favourite Video Games tunes.
I'm also the creator of the Pixel Mixers community.
I organized free tribute albums with them and it our last baby is an album called "Harmony" and contains covers/arrangements of 25 songs from Rayman 1 OST

This album was done with the friendly support of the original composer Rémi Gazel who is also working on a Rayman Album called "RaymanByRémi".

Rayman on PSX was the first video game that I played when I was a child and because of that the game and its music both have a special place in my heart.

I hope that you, who’s going to listen to our album will take as much pleasure as we had working on those groovy songs by Rémi Gazel, the French original composer.
This album has a great variety of music styles due to the amazing original content, there are: jazz, metal, prog rock, funky, electro, ethnic, ambient, pop… songs !
As we are an open community, not all the song professional but i'm sure you'll find some that will fit your taste in music =)

Hey guys it's me again ! ^^

Wanted to share with you the youtube playlist where all the individual songs are going to be released during the next days =)

This is my arrangement of "Meditating Monks" from Rayman 1 OST on PS1 composed by Rémi Gazel.

This song wasn't my 1st choice for the album and when i started working on it i didn't knew were i was going and i felt uninspired...
Until i tried some new Kontakt Ethnic VST packs and then i had that idea to mix Oriental and Asian sounds and try to give it a kind of mystical feeling.

Most of the VST were played live (most of the flute and sitar are improvisations) but some parts were programmed due to my lack of synth skills ^^'

Guitar has a really secondary role in that cover but it's really fun to try new things and style, hope you'll guys will like it in despite of the lazy poorly done video :p

I liked all of them but I think I can quote few of my top favourites: Suspense, Deep Forest, Deep in the Caves and Entering the Cavern.

How amazing is it that you guys did all of this just for the fun of it. What a piece of art.

All of these are so creative. Some are more or less recognisable from the game, but they've all taken the source material in an interesting direction. It's cool!

I want to say that Rayman's community were really supportive (not like most famous games community that looked down at us and asking to not share our "garbage") so a big thank you to all of you who took the time to listen to our arrangements !

Our Rayman album has been downloaded a bit more than 900 times so far, it's more that what we expected (as it's still a niche game) =)
