I mean there's no real-time online multiplayer. The challenge leaderboards and invasions work just fine.Ray502 wrote:It doesn't? Re: Rayman Legends
That excuse is the game design equivalent of "Ppffft, no, you didn't hit me! I had a super shield! It was invisible the whole time!"Adsolution wrote:That's not even the intended path; the person in the video only did that because they were aware you could. You can reach that platform via other means, and if you progress further in the level, you can see the landing zone and are able to backtrack in order to figure out how to get there (properly).sergiomonty wrote:Yeah. But you can't see them because you're panicking while sliding at full speed. What a normal gamer with zero knowledge on the game design would do is get scared for the sudden fall, try to go back, and die miserably. It's the psychology of game design. In a moment of huge tension and fast movement, the player thinks about safety rather than completion.
So that example doesn't count.

Well, now I have one trophy left to unlock.Carrot-master wrote:Yeah, in fact you can only get it by using a second controller.

This is what I did to get it a few years ago.Carrot-master wrote:Yeah, in fact you can only get it by using a second controller.
I've been back to the PS3 challenges now. Lets see if I can manage to get the Level 11 achievement in the next 2 weeks.

Yeah, I was unlocking my kung foot achievement last night and quickly played the challenges for the sake of it, and I saw you with gold cups everywhere.

Re: Rayman Legends
I have been wondering for months now, whether or not to upgrade to the PS4 version or just save my money and stick with the PS3 version. My thoughts may change soon, but I'd like to know what some of you other Legends players think. Is it worth it to spend 20 American dollars to upgrade to the PS4 version?
Re: Rayman Legends
Well the PS4 version is pretty much the same as the PS3 one. Both run in 1080p and 60fps. The main differences that I know of are:Ray502 wrote:I have been wondering for months now, whether or not to upgrade to the PS4 version or just save my money and stick with the PS3 version. - No loading times (which is nice, but not a big deal really since they were never that long to begin with)
- Extra Assassins Ray and Funky Ray costumes
- You can scratch Lucky Tickets with your touchpad (which is rather inconvenient actually, since you can't look at the screen and the touchpad at once)
If you're fine with a digital copy you should probably wait for a sale since it's usually pretty cheap then. Otherwise there's not really much point in geting the PS4 version. I guess more players are active on the challenges which is nice though. But yeah, I only got the PS4 version myself since it was on sale from a store I bought a few games from.
Edit: I just thought I'd let you know it's on sale on PSN right now. Might be worth geting it since it's pretty cheap now.

Also, it has uncompressed textures apparently.
I have Legends on PS4 (on disc) and I like it.

Re: Rayman Legends
Oh, right. I remember reading that on some Ubisoft blog post once... I never really noticed any difference though. I also forgot to mention that there's a camera mode, but it's not that great since it puts a fog effect on the sides of the screen.Fifo wrote:Also, it has uncompressed textures apparently.
Re: Rayman Legends
Sorry for double posting, but is anyone able to help me out with the Kung Foot trophy on the PS4 version? It's the only trophy I've got remaining now.
Re: Rayman Legends
Just put a second controller on and play normally, it should unlock the achievement.
Also, if anyone is interested, the PlayStation Store is doing Easter sales in both Rayman Origins, Legends and the double pack (which the latter is currently costing 10€ with discount already applied).

*Bump - Concerning the Nintendo Direct of today*
Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition was very briefly talked about. It seems the game will have a Single-Player mode for Kung Foot and the possibility to create tournaments up to 8 teams. Players can also play co-op by pairing a second Switch.

Re: Rayman Legends
Hmm, so no online multiplayer, just effectively a LAN party? Not really getting a definitive feel. Granted, it's an extra and most appreciated feature, but nothing that screams "BUY ME AGAIN."
Of course, there may very well be more to come, guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Re: Rayman Legends
They said the game would release later this year so maybe they are reserving more details for E3? I hope they are conscious that in order to convince people (fans, actually) to rebuy the game they really must have a lot of significant new content otherwise I doubt it will work out.

Re: Rayman Legends
Agreed, though of course, even if it were, there's still the matter in investing in the Switch itself. I've been fairly convinced, but with all the issues that seem to have been cropping up since launch, I must admit, my confidence is waning. E3 is going to be crucial for Ninty, I think.
