But with carelessness, the engineer who built the spotlight had installed the wrong resistor. The engineer's name was Apollo, and the spotlight was called Sol.

So the spotlight eventually burned out, sending the solar system into a cold darkness, with no theoretical way to bring back the light.

There was little time to think, because in eight minutes, the last light of Sol would be spent.

An emergency hyperdrive was thrown together by Zeus, who could learn from his previous experience with thunderbolts, to get the warning to humans before the eight minutes were up.

Soon enough, Zeus was encroached upon by vengeful deities of other pantheons. His monopoly on the godly market had left them most displeased, and his final failure drew up a divine conflict of unimaginable proportions.

While the skies above shattered, mortals hoped that the conflict would keep going at the exact pace it was at for some time, because it happened to give enough light and heat for them to live and figure out a proper plan.

And so, there was an emergency meeting of diplomats, leaders and demigods. A coalition to bring peace to the divine was formed. The only salvation would be for the gods to focus their intent on reigniting Sol, and not on war.

But pleas of cooperation from the Greek gods were met with violence by the Norse. From the depths of the underworld burst the great beast, Nidhogg.

The Nidhogg said "can you keep it down for goodness sake, you're disturbing my underworldly slumber". And with a crack of its whip-like tail it cleaved the meeting place of the holy beings, the Parthenon of the gods, in twain.

Chunks of marble and limestone went flying, the Nidhogg's message was received. Sadly, its hotheaded approach did little to cool the hot tempers that was now engulfing both divine and mortal realms.

A pact was finally settled upon between the Greeks and the Norse. In the ruins of the Parthenon, all gods of all mythologies gathered for a divine moot; Upon a chunk of white rock perched Horus, in a bed of limestone rubble lay Cerberus, and all the other deities found somewhere between them to sit and listen.
