- Dyslexia, I read it like "what do you need for it".
To answer your question, for my PiP Boy's case.

What features have you implemented in it so far?

+ Completed an easy assessment for the leadership skills and development class.
+ Some interesting stuff I'm learning in that class, including more detail into setting goals and making sure to keep track of the progress made.

+ Many, I'm very proud of my work, and being an ultra perfectionist guy I'm extremely rarely satisfied of my work, but this it is an exception, so far here's a little list but it may be not exhaustive :
Infared Camera.Enabled
IR nightvision To be Enabled
3G cellular connection TBE
GPS with a 2 meters error possibility. TBE
Telephony TBE
Wi-Fi Online
Moon phase detector (I have something with the moon really.)
Mp3 Player with wave visualizer (can play from remote serversor radios such as LastFM etc, download lyrics...)
Game console (Quake and Doom for the win biotches, and more to come)
Console Emulator
Tactile 3.5 inches resistive screen, it was hell of a mess to enable it though.
One feature I'm quite proud of, battery charger, but it was an out of the box thing.
Flashlight. (TBD)
I still have some things to enable, and others to add, but my work has been really conclusive so far and I'm really near reaching a milestone, if you want my mind it is pretty much a never-ending process.

There are more features to it, like being able to connect to a video camera signal or the possibility to control a remote VNC/SSH server, hack a computer with an Ethernet cable... So far I listed only the ones I added and that pretty much didn't woked out of the box, with it I can do so much more than on a phone, I have an infinite freedom on it, my next step is playing Rayman 2 on it ! (After finishing the cover of course.)
I use a Lua coded interface combined with AwesomeWM to make it fast and lightweight, combined with a system monitoring interfaces also coded with Lua but this time with conky, the code was a tad buggy but I managed to fix an issue.

I prefer capacitive ones – they sense touch without having to apply pressure.

Adafruit doesn't yet have a 3.5 capacitive screen, so I went with the resistive one. In addition I often wear gloves so it is a bit useful.

Yeah, I suppose that’s a benefit of resistive displays.

Poor you :( I hope you get well soon!

– I can’t get Red Hat 6.2 “Zoot” to work in VMware no matter what I do – it just shows up this:

+ Had a busy week, which isn't really a bad thing.
+ Get to relax for the weekend.
– It's not a long weekend.
+ It's a weekend, which is good enough.
– Next week will be busy too.

I was wondering when I had posted here recently. :mefiant:

Well, I guess PID zero means something is failing to launch, so that "Successfully" sounds like a big fat lie. Did you try attaching the virtual drive with IDE rather than SCSI? (Sorry if it's a stupid question)

Yeah I know, sorry for that – I wanted to draw your attention to my post cuz I know you’re an experienced Linux user.

Yeah I’ve tried that with no luck. :(

+ However I did get Mandrake 7.0 to install in VirtualBox
– But it’s in 640x480
– I seem to have bad luck with old Linux distros

Messing with old Linux distros isn't something I've ever really tried. Let's face it, things can be hard enough when everything's up to date!

It’s ok, well at least you tried to help!

Indeed!

+ Red Hat Linux 9 works fine tho (1280x1024 video and sound support in VMware) so I’ll use that
+ it’s freely available
– I had to burn 3 CDs for it as I love having physical backups

+ I’d like to try installing Gentoo
– that’s probably gonna need loads of time and patience as I’ll need to compile everything from source

No, but I’ve tried messing with the DrakX settings with no luck. No matter what monitor type/video adapter I choose, it fails and says something like “no valid video modes found”.

nano /etc/X11/Xorg.conf

In the resolution section type whatever pleases you and it should work.
Lucky you, you didn't have to tinker with a framebuffer that redirects the hdmi signal of your device to a screen that doesn't even use it in order to get a virtually higher resolution that uses your GPU that stuff was pure hell on his project...
+ I did it, and it works.
