Would you pay more taxes if it meant receiving a pension when you retire?

Yes, the state should guarantee a pension for its citizens.

Yes, but a mixed model would be more efficient (50% state + 50% private pension plan, for example).

No, the state does not have to manage my money; I prefer to have it myself and opt, for example, for a private pension plan.

Thanks to Master's suggestions, the polls will now run for 3-4 days, and the results from previous polls were added to the first post.

Went with black, white and green. I like the look of those colors on a truck the best.

A strange question, but I suppose I'd just go with my favourite colour so I chose grey

Kinda depends on the vehicle. I'll just assume it's a Ferrari and go with red, yellow and blue. These colors might not look so nice on a Range Rover though [puke smiley]

Indeed, though in general I'd prefer a more understated colour regardless of the vehicle. So I'd go for a silver or blue.

This is the first poll that will run for 3-4 days. The new one is: "How do you pronounce the word: "deity?"

Credit to Plum for suggesting it.

For car colours, black is generally the best. E.g.

However I also voted green because I like the military versions of these.

Sadly I don't own either of these cars. And it does depend on the car as Mat said.

As for deity, I would pronounce it 'dayity', don't think I've even heard anyone say 'deeity'.

Deeity for me. I always thought it was just a British/American difference but apparently they're both used all over the place.

Master and Serza might pronounce it 'dee-ity', with their northern charm, but they'd probably still claim to be pronouncing it 'day-ity'.

I used to say "dayity", probably because of the obvious connection with Irish "Dé" (genitive of "Dia", God) but I've more recently switched to the other pronunciation. Ostensibly it's the more traditional pronunciation (even though it would have evolved from an Early Modern pronunciation with the "day" sound).
I've seen people come up with a lot of theories about the reasons for the change. Personally I'd say it's a shift towards knowledge and use of some Classical Latin pronunciations (as in the hard C in "Celt"), though I've seen other hypotheses that don't invoke such outside influence.

Hmm, it is a curious one. I've grown inclined to pronouncing it as "die-ity" thanks to how I used to read it. Though I think I tend toward "day-ity" over "dee-ity"

It just sounds wrong to me Plum. Like when Americans say ant-eye for anti, as if they're for some reason referring to ants' eyes. Or the darta, look at the darta!

The data? That's another strange one. It's actually one I've always had, and always held on to. Where I am now, it's a pronunciation I basically share with my Italian co-workers and no-one else! :P

EDIT: Though I do make an exception when singing "Still Alive". And only then! It's funny how many ways that particular rhyme can be ruined…

The time has passed for the seventh poll: "Which would you rather do?"

The degrees mentioned in the poll are in Fahrenheit.

Just because the poll does not specify, I'll go for Celsius and choose the first one (obviously, the other one would kill me).

I'd choose the first one because when you're really cold you can go indoors to a toasty fireplace and a hot chocolate and feel cosy, which is the best feeling known to human kind.
When you're hot and you go indoors and turn on a fan or two and get a glass of icy water, sure you feel refreshed but that comes nowhere near the feeling of cosiness.

80 °F ≡ 26⅔ °C eh?
I've been known to wear winter clothes in hotter weather than that, so the choice is obvious for me!

"Walking" isn't an option?? Whatever, I went with "relax on the sand" because that seems to be the closest. But I also don't live near the beach, so I picked that too. :fou:

Relaxing on the sand has always been my go-to. My skin isn't as used to the salt water anymore so it makes me itch whenever I get in the ocean, and I can't be bothered to get used to it anytime soon. So for now I enjoy the sea breeze and warmth of the sun above all else.

While I do love to kip literally anywhere I go, the beach included, I find myself breaking the norm at the seaside and, instead of seeking the most comfortable option, I run into the cold sea to get that rush of adrenaline and to splash freezing water at my brothers
