Although, there were some who couldn't quite get their heads around this inexplicable turn of events. To add some detail; The gods decided to build a new sun. And they decided that it had to be done quickly.

The only one industrious enough for the job was an old man named Bob. He goes by Big Bob for obvious reasons.

The gods contacted Bob...

The gods contacted Bob, Big Bob that is, to ask him to construct another sun.
Bob had the experience and the tools to do the job, but no materials. He only knew of one person who could gather the materials to create a star; and that person was none other than the prince of the cosmos.

Bob called for the prince...

Bob called for the prince, but the phone kept ringing and ringing.

Big Bob tried again...

Big Bob tried again, and again his response was nothing but the "da da da da da" of the ringing phone tone. But what a strange tone it was! Usually phones made a "beep beep... beep beep..." tone to indicate a ringing phone.
That's when Bob realised what the sound was: it was the price himself! He was singing his own theme tune.

Bob said to the price...

Bob said to the price, this isn't the time to imitate the theme tones.

The price responded...

The prince responded, and promptly the two organised a meeting. It was eventually decided that the price of the cosmos would roll up the inhabitants and properties of Gloucestershire (chosen for its abundance of star ingredients), and Bob would get to work turning the great mass of people, buildings, wheelbarrows and double Gloucester cheese into a star.

Once he was finished...

Once he was finished, the moon was formed. Cheesed off at his lack of success, he then gathered clumps of matter, and crushed them.

The matter...

The matter, under the intense stress of Bob's muscular arms, began to heat up and burn leaving nothing but dry carbon. Bob crushed even harder still, until eventually the atoms of carbon aligned and bonded to form the most beautiful and sparkly diamond in the world. So sparkly it was, that one could easily mistake it for a twinkling star!

That have Bob an idea...

That have Bob an idea, to create an item of such density, that all matter would converge upon it, and the ultimate star would be made.

Sadly, Bob forgot...

Sadly, Bob forgot to bring his singularity generator with him; he'd left it at home!
Bob knew there was only one person who could get there in time.

With great determination he reached into his coat pocket, produced his mobile phone and proceeded to call...

Even though John Madden was a Handegg commentator, he screamed "POLE POSITION" upon being called. This caused Bob to sigh, he needed quick, decisive action. Not some Formula One.

Ironically...

Ironically, at that precise moment, a race car appeared and from the cockpit emerged none other than The Stig with Bob's singularity generator in his hands. Exactly what he needed!
He plugged it in, flipped the power switch, and pushed the "GENERATE SINGULARITY" button.

What happened next defied all expectation...

What happened next defied all expectation; the diamond lit up the area in a 150 mile radius. The majestic brightness returned everything to normal, and then some.

But the power of the diamond...

But the power of the diamond was instantly absorbed by the singularity; the machine had gotten out of control! It was sucking up everything from matter to energy to thoughts and dreams and all planes of existence both conceivable and inconceivable.

All hope seemed lost...

All hope seemed lost and it indeed was. Better get absorbed by the machine and try to recreate the universe inside it.

This is why you never trust Big Bob. Most of what he does ends up a disaster.

But that didn't let Bob down, he knew...

But that didn't let Bob down, he knew he was an absolute plonker but he still had the determination to give it another shot. Although all that once was was no more, and nothing now existed, Bob's determination was so strong that it permeated the very fabric of our world and manifested itself in physical form. Bob's determination reached out and pushed a button on the non-existent singularity machine labeled "reboot".
