Thanks, that's helpful to <. < says it's nothing useful per se, as < is just trying to get a population of bit arrays to converge towards a reference array. But < wants to start with simple stuff before using the same methods on more complex subjects such as combinatorial optimization.PluMGMK wrote:< wonders what the hell kind of function Hunch is optimizing.

Don't you get free software for 3D modelling? < hears a lot about Blender. < hears it's not the professionally used tool, but < thinks it'd be something fun to tinker with.Fifo wrote:< does remember <’s dad playing with AutoCAD 2008/Pro Engineer Wildfire 9.0Master wrote:<'s been thinking about taking up 3D modelling as a hobby over the summer period, < wonders if ^ might be interested in something like that to stave off the boredom.Fifo wrote:<’s bored

< has mucked about with Blender before. < believes it's notoriously difficult to learn, but it can give good results if you put in the effort!

Sexy!
Well, the GPU is only used to preview your animation, all the actual rendering is done on the CPU(s). < used to find it interesting to watch <'s frames render in six separate segments on <'s old Phenom II X6, then when < built the machine with a Core i7 they split up into eight instead.

Re: The You Game!
<'s been pretty interested in modelling recently too, < was thinking about why so many models are made with quads rather than triangles when, to <'s understanding, rendering software converts all shapes into triangles eventually anyway.
