Re: E3 2017
Pity, but he did confirm that they're still working on it, and that they intend to show something during this year, so while it's a bummer in regards to E3, it looks like we still have something to look forward at some point this year.
Though indeed, seeing as Ubi's offerings don't generally hold much interest to me, I don't feel much enthusiasm towards their conference. That being said, what with Vivendi's impending acquisition, I'd at least like for Ubi to give Ancel BG&E and Rayman for himself, I don't want Vivendi to have control over those franchises as they did Crash.

Re: E3 2017
It sounds like he'll speak of it soon though which is at least a plus even if it's not at E3.

Re: E3 2017
It has begun.
EA's done their conference, which Total Biscuit has riffed on, I wonder if the other conferences will be riffed on too: Sounds like EA loused theirs up.

Re: E3 2017
Kind of, but it wasn't surprising, their conference is always one of the worst every year.Master wrote:Sounds like EA loused theirs up.
In a nutshell: (underlined games are the most promising to me)
EA:
- A new FIFA and a new NBA game, not much to say about these;
- A Way Out, a new coop adventure game, looks very run-of-the-mill with average graphics.
- A lot of gameplay (30 min) for the new Star Wars Battlefront 2, looks quite promising with nice graphics and gameplay ideas, however the online multiplayer seems quite muddled. Good new: there will be a campaign mode unlike in the first one. Let's hope that there will be also more than 3 maps and 2 game modes.

Microsoft/Xbox
- XBOX One X: Retrocompatibility with Xbox One, 360 and the first Xbox. 4k ready. Will cost $499.
- Forza 7: as usual, nothing much to say about it. The races give an impression of slowness though.
- Metro Exodus: Looked nice at the beginning, but seeing gameplay it looks like a tasteless Far Cry clone, and it's a pity
- Assassins Creed Origins: This new opus, a prequel, takes place in ancient egypt. Very nice looking graphics and inspired artistic direction. Seems like the AI are still completly dumb though.
- State of Decay 2: Zombie game, more survival oriented than action. Very classical but incorporates nice gameplay ideas, such as crew management and basement creation.
As a reminder, the first one was not so great if not bad. - Deep Rock Galactic: Boring clone of Astroneer.
- The Darwin Project: Uninspired survival game.
- Dragon Ball FighterZ: Very promising, nervous and precise 1v1 fighting game. Graphics are awesome.
- Black Desert: Seemed very nice at first with an inspired universe and cool gameplay, but finally it is a farming based MMORPG, so nope.
- Artful Escape: Indie psychedelic musical game, with fucking unicorns. And it's quite ugly.
- Sea of Thieves: Disappointing, I don't like much these cartoon graphics, looks like 2009 TF2. Gameplay seems uninteresting, in addition of being very rigid.
- The Last Night: Indie cyberpunk adventure game, with very nice voxelized graphics. Looks mature and scenario focused.
- Tacoma: Yet another "discover&wonder" generic indie game. From Gone Home dev, though.
- Cuphead: Very nice indie plateformer, with "Old disney" cartoon graphics.
- Super Lucky's Tale: A very nice old school 3D plateformer. Have some elements of Banjo&Kazooie and Spyro.
- Crackdown 3: Very much like the 2 others, looks uninspired as fuck.
- Ashen: Survival RPG with low poly cartoon graphics. Gameplay looks quite like Dark Souls.
- Life is Strange: Before the Storm: It's a prequel which looks a lot like the first. Even the graphics seems dated.

- Middle Earth: Shadow of War: Looks boring as fuck. Lore is dead.
- Ori And the Will of the Wisps: Looks very nice. Same vein as the first one.
- Code Vein: Fast paced action RPG, in a post-apo frozen world -I thought it was The Division at first kek. Not very impressive, but if it is well realized it can be a good game.
- Anthem: New license from BioWare. Looks to be a story-driven action/adventure game. Best graphics so far of this E3, and a lot of gameplay possibilities.
- Fallout and Doom in VR
- The Elder Scrolls Legends: the new... card game
- Evil Within 2: looks as nice as the first one, not very scary but action based;
- Wolfenstein The New Colossus: looks very nice, inspired AD, seems like story is very important.

Re: E3 2017
They just showed off Beyond Good and Evil 2, looks god damn awesome.
Re: E3 2017
It looks fantastic, a dream come true... but online is worrying me a bit. I'll wait for more details.
Also, number 2 in the franchise is a prequel? That's a bit weird. I'm thinking it will be part-sequel part-prequel? But I don't even understand what kind of game it is yet right now. I'll rewatch the trailer and try to process all this.

Re: E3 2017
Pretty jarring that the characters are swearing now, but looks awesome
Re: E3 2017
Yeah Ubisoft, good conference but where's Rayman 9 for the ps2 2 huh?

Re: E3 2017
I fell in love with the BGE2 trailer. The world looks amazing and i'm down for it being possibly more mature with the swearing.
Re: E3 2017
BEYOND GOOD & EVIL 2!!!
Michel Ancel said before there wouldn't be BG&E2 in the E3. He lied!>
I gave a jump out of my chair. The trailer looks phenomenal (those graphics and textures!!)! I only played BG&E1 for the first time back in 2011 but since I did it I wait for the sequel. Also, I thought Gabrielle Shragger wasn't working in Ubisoft anymore? Afterall she seems to be writing the story. Then I think it promises to be good! I hope we see more of it in future.

Re: E3 2017
Now that I think about it, since now it's a prequel, does this mean the older trailers and videos are now just a piece of the past of when it was going to be a sequel?
Someone better save that shit quickly or it's going to become Lost media (especially the conference one with Michel showing various artworks)
Re: E3 2017
That tone change is weird for me, but... WE FINALLY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS GAME, FUCK YES

Re: E3 2017
Much obliged, Rayfist!
Blimey, open cussing in a Michel Ancel game? I never thought I'd see that. More curiously though, there's no sign of what platform BG&E2 is coming out on, I wonder if the Switch exclusive rumours turn out to be true?
EDIT: I didn't watch the conference, but from what I'm hearing, it sounds like Ubi actually toned down the cringeworthy quirkiness and were actually extremely passionate with it. I hope that is actually the case, it'd make a wondrous change of pace.

Kidding aside, yeah, I know what you mean.
I also hope it isn't Switch exclusive, this game needs to be on PC as well.

Re: E3 2017
PRIME 4 CONFIRMED. I'MMA BUY A SWITCH. IMMA BUY IT.
EDIT: Alright, it's confirmed to be in development, no gameplay shown. So I might be jumping the gun a little, but fingers crossed it continues the Prime legacy.

Re: E3 2017
Well, does this means Mario can disguise as almost everyone in the game? I wasn't expecting to see Pauline either.
Also, new Pokémon RPG in Switch? Like the portable games or a totally different thing? I'm curious now.

Re: E3 2017
Yeah, the show was short, but man, they announced the titles which I go for. New Kirby and Metroid, and Mario Odyssey looks sublime. News of a proper Pokemon RPG title on the Switch is also promising, and coupled with the promising Mario+Rabbids crossover, I think I'm really feeling the Switch.

Re: E3 2017
After BGE2 there was hardly any titles here that would've made me more excited. Even so I liked the look of the new Kirby game and Pokemon on switch sounds interesting.
