Re: The Awesome and Cool Poll Thread
Physical !
With some efforts it can be cloned into digital and it doesn't ruin your privacy, buying a videogame at the store doesn't involve telling my name, giving my credcard codes, or my adress or tell if I'm married or not.
Like, I still have my 2001 copies of Wolfenstein and Max Payne.

I only have a slight preference for physical copies mostly for having a physical box but it wouldn't be a game breaker if a game came out as digital only.

Re: The Awesome and Cool Poll Thread
I go out of my way to make every copy of every game I own as digital as possible to the extent of installing custom firmware on my 3DS and PSP to play games off the SD, copying disks as ISOs to play with a virtual disk drive, I even got a Gameboy flashcart to play original Gameboy games off an SD card in a custom cartridge.
It's not that I don't like physical copies (I sort of collect Gameboy games after all), it's just that if I want to play a game I want it to be right there built in without having to carry my games with me/find them, there's no risk of them being damaged or lost, I don't have to swap them out or face the potential risk of misreading disks/poor cartridge connection etc.
So I like physical copies as much as anyone else as they're just nice to own, but when it comes to the practical side of things and actually playing them I don't see the advantage of physical copies apart from the supposed risk of services like Steam becoming inaccessible, but this doesn't apply to most cases of digital copies and I doubt it would happen anyway. I suppose there's the problem of the single point of failure being your hard drive/device which would wipe all of your games if it broke, but honestly I think it's much more likely for hundreds of game CDs to break before your hard drive fails.

On the topic of digitising, what ever did happen to your R4 purchase? Is it still in limbo?

I prefer physical copies over digital copies pretty much all the time. Video game copies are no exception.

Huh, the R4 works on the 3DS as well? Interesting, I wouldn't have thought they'd be supported given how old it is.Ambidextroid wrote:It arrived a couple days after that post actually, and it works perfectly! So my all-in-one portable gaming combination of PSP and 3DS is finally compete

Re: The Awesome and Cool Poll Thread
The one I got's made specifically for the 3DS, the last R4 came out last year I think. It doesn't play 3DS games but the CFW allows them to be played straight from the 3DS's SD, I just needed the R4 because as far as I understand the 3DS switches to the original DS firmware when you're playing a DS game, so you can't use your CFW to load original DS games.

And here's a poll that might look a bit tinfoil-hattish, but it's not really.

Re: The Awesome and Cool Poll Thread
I imagine that if life as we know it has developed elsewhere in the universe, It's probably such an unlikely event that it'd be far away enough to be eternally outside of our reach due to the universe's expansion. Then again it's hard to gauge just how unlikely life developing from scratch is, it only takes one organism to begin populating an entire planet after all...

Re: The Awesome and Cool Poll Thread
I doubt that with the universe being as big as it is that there aren't other intelligent life out there, hell there might be some from one planet who have already met with some from another in a far distant galaxy. If we haven't been contacted yet then we simply must be too far away from them, or the ones close to us don't yet have the advancements to do so.

Re: The Awesome and Cool Poll Thread
What are you talking about Plum ??
I was stuck between that option and "They don't exist." But I went ahead and chose the former because that was my first option. Though I will say that since there hasn't been any true evidence backed up by now that aliens do exist then probably there won't ever be. If they are real, then they must be too far away to reach here.

Guys, I'm so sorry. I knew there was something I was neglecting, I just couldn't think of it.
So anyway, who here plans on getting married?

No story really, it just didn't work out.
Re: The Awesome and Cool Poll Thread
According to what Humch said she was hot, that's all I know about it.
And also that she had an account here at some moment.
About marriage, I really don't think about it, like ever, I'm totally unable to put any trust or faith into a relationship, or to quote Coluche in Tchao Pantin
