+ Recorded a new song yesterday, which went extremely well.

+ I created a logo for a natural body care brand, and they gave me free membership to all their meet-ups and skin care/makeup products! I'm also now getting logo requests from their associates up the wazoo.

+/- I have from Monday to Friday to prove my web dev skills on an assignment for work. Apparently there'll be some PHP involved which I know absolutely nothing about whatsoever, and I've never actually built a web page before. Though a week is more than enough time to do what they want (it could be done in a day or two), I've never done it before, but it should still be enough time to both learn how and do it. I'm pretty sure it'll go well, I'm just nervous. Even though the company's trying to cut costs here and there and our innovation crew is essentially an extra for the time being, it's basically confirmed I'll be regularly thrown into the line of fire for this kind of thing, so I'm definitely going to ask for a raise afterwards.

+ I get to record a solo vocalist for a DJ track for the first time today. I've recorded many vocalists before, but this is totally outside my genre. This is a plus though, because I trust my musical intuition and production skills far more than I do the aforementioned, and I'm sure I can bring something new to the table given how DJ vocals are usually produced.

-/+ Had to reinstall Windows because of a virus. I haven't gotten a virus in like six years, and it was from a very hastily downloaded torrent of Adobe Animate which obviously wasn't legit. I knew that clicking into it too, I just did it anyways. This is a +/- because it's always nice to have a fresh install... the old install just died at the worst time (right when OCG, Snaggly and I were about to all do three-player Destiny 2 for the first time).

-- Actually fuck this, I'm not agreeing to the contract. I need guaranteed money right now and too many things about it seem downright exploitative to me. Unusually low pay for what it is, the risk of not being paid at all for 40 hours of work if they don't like the end product, denying my request to be be put on salary despite the offer being there before, and so on. Literally, my co-worker has been on salary the whole time and has very little to do at work, and though I turned down salary in favour of logging my hours for honesty's sake, they're reaaaallly trying to take that and run with it. Why the fuck should I have to risk wasting yet another week - it's been over a month now - with no pay? I feel pretty used and disrespected, which is something I wasn't expecting coming from a young buddy-buddy boss. I think he's a legitimately good guy, it just seems to me like he hasn't fully thought this through.

+ The studio my brother's working at desperately needs more people to edit audio and record clients, and they actually pay more by the hour. I'm 120% down for that, and they'd be willing to take me as soon as I give them the signal. I'm not "leaving" my other job, I'm just not going to agree to bullshit if it's clear I'm not needed there right now.

Bad stroke of luck there Ad, perhaps you could place any software installs on an external HDD in the future? Just to save yourself the process of having to redownload anything.

As for your work, best of luck, I hope you do find a more fulfilling and better paid job at the studio.
