I cant realy play the game without it because this game is hard enough with it so why i cant use it is beond me.

This game was made back when we had PS1 controllers with no analog sticks. I have a PS2 but happen to have the white PSone controller here somewhere. I'll test that on it and see if it works. Might be a driver difference (between PS1 and PS2 controllers) I know in some games you just turned on analog and then it worked as a Dpad.

Rayman 1 doesn’t work with analog sticks – and switching on Analog Mode won’t help.

Just lack of support for them so. I used to think turning on analog just mapped the left analog as a Dpad and the right as Triangle, square, circle and x. Evidently that's not the case. I don't mind playing it with the Dpad as I grew up playing it that way but everyone's different and it's probably hard to adapt to a Dpad after using analog sticks for years.

That’s exactly what I wanted to point out – that it actually doesn’t do what you say. :)

Is using the D-pad really that bad to you? I usually find playing 2D platformers with an Analog stick to be the least comfortable choice.

Better to know than to be giving false advice. Just seems to depend on the game whether it utilises the analog sticks :)

I'm sure you'll get used to it within a few minutes. At least it's not putting you at a disadvantage since it was designed to be played with the Dpad and everyone else has to use it too :)

I myself prefer the Dpad in older 2D platformers but in Origins and Legends I use the analog stick.

Just get used to the PlayStation d-pads, they're great. It would be almost downright impossible to play Rayman 1 with an analogue stick given how precise your control needs to be in a lot of areas.

Actually would be pretty tough alright and you'll know all about it if you ever tried to play Sega Mega Drive UC on xbox360 (Ristar for example) because of having to use analog or a terrible dpad. The xbox360 and Gamecube have the worst Dpads ever imo so be thankful you get to use a PlayStation analog and not them :)
