< wonders where those extra 30 volts came from.

Wow, how did you manage to get your PS2 so dusty?? <’s is surprisingly clean.Steo wrote:< had the water problems last week from the snow although that's city water.
< got the yellow beast up and running (replaced the mainboard) and converted it to PAL to be able to play the games < owns.

< isn't sure, but < would suspect maybe one of the windings may have shorted somewhat, since all the transformers do is step down the voltage.PluMGMK wrote:< wonders where those extra 30 volts came from.

Re: The You Game!
< has to actually clean those consoles. <'s V7 (in the picture) was actually found in an abandoned council house and was very dusty and then < was drilling and sawing etc. the last few days. If < had owned it from new it'd be spotless.Fifo wrote:Wow, how did you manage to get your PS2 so dusty?? <’s is surprisingly clean.
< will clean all of those consoles later, a lot are full of house dust. < just overlooked how much dust was between the little grooves since < got it.
< might make that the job for tonight, to disassemble the PS2 and clean it thoroughly until it looks new
That's actually a very good point ^ made though. Why not have it clean if it's on display like that.

< Thinks Fifo's OCD would prevent him from having a spec of dust hiding on his consoles, not even on the PCB.
Re: The You Game!
What does the PCB stand for, < wonders?

< says it stands for Printed Circuit BoardAaron wrote:What does the PCB stand for, < wonders?

Haha. Tbh though Fifo was right. < just gave the PS2 a good dusting and a lot of that ended up in <'s face and lungs
Looks a lot better now though so it was actually a lot more dusty than < thought it was. Maybe that will give Fifo ease of mind now knowing its clean
< guessed that was a joke about the tings by the way but it made < laugh
Those old fuse boxes are a death trap and they should be replaced with switches. <'s auntie's nearly went on fire one night and started melting but they came out and put the switches in for her as it was a hazard.
Edit: that was likely faulty or loose wiring but still

< Would bet that's a very good guess, considering it initially caused the fuse to blow on the transformer itself.
