Help running games in SSF Sega Saturn emulator

Post by Shadowrayman »

Ok so I have tried every Saturn emulator there is, and the only one that works for me is SSF but I have a problem.

So I run a game in the emulator, it shows the bios intro without the "Licensed by Sega" thing but instead of going into the game it went to the bios screen. The game is mounted on a virtual drive as well.

However it recognises the disc and played all of the music tracks of the game. It also happens to other games too, the game I am running is Rayman. Can anyone here help me with this? I have been trying to fix this for ages now.

Hmm. As far as I can remember, the only Saturn emulator I successfully got to play Rayman was Yabause. Have you tried that?

Yes I tried Yabause, it did the exact same thing that SSF did. Well I still have it on my PC, can you help me with it?

Try using a BIOS that matches the region of the game. Also check the region settings in the emulator’s options.

Well the Bios is matching with the game and the region settings are accurate.

EDIT: SSF won't run anymore for some weird reason so I might just use Yabause instead

If we’re not replying doesn’t mean we’re ignoring you. It just means we have no advice to give.

That reminds me...have you tried looking at this yet? (Still using SSF?)

I'm not sure how useful this can be to what you're doing, but I'm afraid that's all I can do to help for right now. I'll see if I can't find other information later.

Thanks for the link, but I couldn't find anything that was about the problem I had.

Right, I went and reinstalled Yabause, dug up an old config and tweaked it until Rayman ran. This is what I have, though it may be different on other OSs:

The game doesn't perform as well as I'd like, but I think that's due to an issue on my end (my not using NVIDIA's proprietary driver).

I used your settings except when I turn on HLE bios and get rid of my bios, it says: "Can't initialize Yabause" I checked in the log and it said "Can't initialize the game". You can probably send me your ISO of the game if it still is not working.

Well I tried with the bios along with all of your settings but then it still brings me to the bios screen.
