What are your thoughts on the 30th Anniversary Edition of Rayman 1?

I love it, it's exactly what I expected!

I love it, but I think the price is a bit excessive for what it is.

It's fine, although I'm not entirely convinced by the soundtrack.

It's okay, although I wouldn't have included the accessibility options (infinite lives, etc.).

I expected more from Ubisoft. They should have made some improvements, just like the fans did with Rayman Redemption.

That may have been the part. Tbh I do like the lockjaw challenge part ;)

Edit: Haha I seem to have a very different opinion than everyone else. I think the vortex is cool :P

Yeah, there are loads together about a bunch of yellow gems in mid-air in the Tower of the Leptys part 2 (which Cut will tell you is a pretty messed up stage in general). There's also a secret room in the Land of the Livid Dead part 3 which does a similar thing. That may also have been a messed-up design since it's at least theoretically traversible with normal jumping.

Yeah those are the two areas I was thinking of, I think the tower one is definitely more annoying since you can’t really avoid this section or using the cans since you are literally going up a shaft there (the first section of rising “lava” (it looks more like pink water to me though)) to continue. It just felt like a really shoddy design that didn’t need to be there unless something special were to happen if one were to, let’s say, touch all of them which would be interesting (yeah this was a crazy theory I thought of as a kid playing the game).

No worse than my thinking there might be an alternate ending if you finish the Longest Shortcut quickly enough! :P Wow, so much wasted potential…

I wouldn't blame you for that though as I remember a weird level in Super Mario World had an alternative ending and varying parts depending on coins collected or time taken. I think it was on Chocolate Island if I recall correctly?

Somehow I feel like you’ve said that before or is that my imagination? Ah well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I hope that the next 3D Rayman game that Ubisoft produces will not have a lot of strange designing faults or levels that lack a lot of um....uniqueness (maybe that’s not the right word to put here). But anyway I’m rambling I guess.

Chocolate Island 2.
It’s an alternate exit that goes to Chocolate Secret. Main exit goes to Chocolate Island 3, which in itself has two exits: the main one just loops, and the other goes forward to Chocolate Island 4.

Aside from the color scheme and the fact that blue is my favorite color (green is my second favorite and thus vortex would be second on my list, though not just for that reason), the lockjaw also allows you to lock on to your opponents and shock them with electricity. Though on a scoring point i feel that could be a good or bad thing depending on the situation.

I also remember another level on that world that clears in a small circle and just goes back to the same level to annoy you. Another game I have always loved and have the GBA version too.

I'm off topic. Apologies I'll move to the Mario Topic.

But yeah thr Vortex is my favourite even for scoring I like it.

I did, but I brought it up again since I felt it was relevant. :P I guess the point is, if there were so many "crazy theories" about secrets the game might hold, it shows how much wasted potential there was. Of course, part 3 of the Desert of the Knaaren is another obvious one. Preponderance of the evidence suggests that getting past the initial wall of Knaaren would lead to a secret room, and yet… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tPyAtq ... be&t=1m24s

Another interesting theory that I've seen, and it sounds exactly to another theory I've had, except this one was in part 4 of the same area: what is past the first wave of Knaaren? Indeed, so many lost opportunities! :)

See above, and then we'll move this conversation to that topic.

I like the Vortex too, it's my second favorite power. Aside from the green (and red) color (which green is my second favorite color), it makes it really easy for one to kill enemies quickly if you don't have the HMF on you with the awesome vortexes that come from your fist (which I think are cool). Though if I was trying to reach a high score, this might not be the best power to work with since you pretty much forfeit that 30 point bonus on some of the Hoodlums that could be defeated in 1 charged shot if you decided to just throw vortexes since they usually rebound and possibly hit other hoodlums even when charging, and this could also ruin combos since trying to attack while the enemies are spinning will just repel you. Though I still love this power regardless. Oddly enough, these cans don't appear at all in the Tower of the Leptys. Guess they ran out of usage for it?

I like the Lockjaw because it lasts the longest out of all Laser-Washing Powders; it gives the player more time to combo a bunch of gems/items. :P

Oh look, Steo likes the vortex instead of the lockjaw, let's all point and laugh. Who said that!? :mefiant:

Like Jonster, I consider the Vortex as my second favorite power-up. Mostly because it's amusing to shrink the Hoodlums and green is one of my favorite colors. :)

Haha. I love the lockjaw too and the HMF but I guess the lockjaw would go second after some thought due to the time it lasts for. I love the colour green though and love the sound effect the vortex makes when it spins stuff. Also love the way it shrinks the hoodlums :)

You know the most funniest part about this poll for me was that almost everyone chose the lockjaw power. I then find that there was a topic on this too.
viewtopic.php?t=1363
And the majority there chose the Lockjaw too!! :oops2:
Go figure though

Favourite Nymph since Jonster is too busy trying to criticize me instead of coming up with one himself?

Lol now you’re just making fun of me...
Ok fine! :pascontent:
Edit2: actually that one could work since “Scrapped Nymph” wasn’t on the other poll..

How about “Your hardest level from Rayman 1?”
Edit: That might be a bit much now that I think about it...
