Re: Rayman 3
Yeah Rayman 3 isn't that difficult compared to other games but it's still a brilliant game and the scoring makes it worthwhile replaying. I'm not sure but I wanna play it now and don't know whether to play it on PC, PS2, XBOX or Gamecube.

The blue can is the Lockjaw. The green can where that Murfy and Rayman cutscene happens is called the Vortex. The Jonster wrote:But then...
Snatches Murfy with the lockjaw! Lol!

I'm aware of that, thanks. I was just joking heheRay502 wrote:The blue can is the Lockjaw. The green can where that Murfy and Rayman cutscene happens is called the Vortex. The Jonster wrote:But then...

Anyway I finally picked up Rayman3 and started playing for PC, only for the textures to be off, which I can only imagine is bc of the fact that my PC is too strong for the poor game to be supported (windows 8/10). Oh well, to the GC version cuz it works pretty well too!

Try use "Better Rayman 3" if you haven't already. The Jonster wrote:Anyway I finally picked up Rayman3 and started playing for PC, only for the textures to be off, which I can only imagine is bc of the fact that my PC is too strong for the poor game to be supported (windows 8/10). I can play the game on a GTX970 with a 7700k @ 4.8ghz using that and it works. I get frameskip for no reason at times on Windows 10 but it still works.

Re: Rayman 3
Ok i have a question about this game, is it possible for me to submit my score to the Hall of Fame multiple times if I am using several versions or is it just the highest score I make out of the two that will be recorded?

Re: Rayman 3
There's only one score per user. Whatever you enter replaces anything that was there before. Just enter your best one!

Re: Rayman 3
Ok cool I just want my best score to be a decent one that doesn’t involve me using action replay to go back to a pointe where I messed up. Hm can I use an emulator?

Mmm...yeah I'm pretty sure that anything involving Action Replay counts as cheating, so don't even toy around with it as a possible option. The Jonster wrote:Ok cool I just want my best score to be a decent one that doesn’t involve me using action replay to go back to a pointe where I messed up. As of emulation...I guess it's okay as long as it's raw and unmodified, but why would you want to emulate this game in the first place? O_o
Re: Rayman 3
The only reason you'd want to use Rayman 3 dolphin emulation is to play those GC exclusive mini-games, but putting that aside, the PC version is probably the most consistent version of the game.

Re: Rayman 3
Yes, the PC version is definitely more consistent and is the one that I plan to use to score since I've played that version much longer. The GC version, I am playing to both practice (bc of action replay) and for the GC exclusive mini-games since I haven't played those yet. After the Land of the Livid Dead, I get progressively worse at scoring bc of overthinking. The longest shortcut, though is the only exception to that.

I'm awful at scoring

Re: Rayman 3
I think the place where I do worst at scoring is Hoodlum Headquarters. I do really well at the Longest Shortcut and Clearleaf Forest (no, those aren't the reasons they are among my favorite stages).

Re: Rayman 3
Hoodlum Headquarters has at least a couple combos in all phases except the last two where it can definitely be frustrating. Each world has its own difficulties, but to me HH has the more difficult combos to pull off together.
Re: Rayman 3
I want to try it again eventually but I kept getting 65000 on Land Of The Livid Dead
Re: Rayman 3
Speaking of Hoodlum Headquarters, I just beat it! Though the end of the level where you have to be insanely fast because the lava is rising is the worst part in my opinion because I wanna just do everything at my own pace. Oh, and to top it all off, there are Slapdashes on the way to make your job even harder.

Re: Rayman 3
Yeah that last level in HH makes it a bit more intense to combo with. Thankfully the path is pretty linear so there I don't have to think too hard when attacking or collecting. That stage/phase was my second least favorite in that level right after that darn Horrible Machine.
Re: Rayman 3
So, I just got to the final boss, Reflux 2 and I was at Phase 3 with the levitating platforms that disappear after a while and I died. I thought I would respawn at that phase, but I was wrong since you apparently have to do every phase at once and you can't screw up (I respawned back at the part with the stairs where you have to go up to the first phase). I hate when that happens!

And yeah that part where you die and have to start over sucks.

I only mentioned the name of the level but we haven't talked about it until now.The Jonster wrote:Heheh I feel like we talked about that before...remember?

Re: Rayman 3
I suppose we haven't yet, my bad
What I tend to do is to memorize where all the yellow cans are and to be quick, but not rushing to the top. Only the bottom platform will still be visible, so you should remember where that is too in case the platforms disappear. I'm not sure how helpful this will be, but it's the best advice I can give.
