I think he's playing on PS2 though not PC.

Yeah. Oh, so is it exclusive?Steo wrote:I think he's playing on PS2 though not PC.

I'll try my PS2 version now and see if it happens. I'll grab a screenshot too if it does.Aaron wrote:Yeah. Oh, so is it exclusive?

Re: Rayman 3
I'll explain more fully. RaymanZone was established in 2003 as the official site of Rayman 3. It had the Lums Quest, which was basically identical to what we do with Tings here, except without the donate feature and way more exploitable because they stupidly did some Lum-count manipulations on the client-side with JS rather than keeping it all server-side. People with enough Lums got access to downloadable goodies, many of which are now probably lost. Note that during this era, the domains of previous Rayman websites redirected to the then-current RaymanZone, BUT the old websites were still available, and could be accessed from a certain section of the main site.Ray502 wrote:No such thing as RaymanZone these days. If you try to go there it will redirect to the official Ubisoft website. The Jonster wrote:Too bad RaymanZone doesn’t exist anymore?
ARZO attacked this generation of RZ at Christmas 2004, but the site was restored soon enough. However, the forum was no longer part of the site and was instead restarted as part of the main Ubi forums, and so Lums could no longer be earned by posting. Some of the posts on that old forum have been recovered.
The big change came when Rayman Raving Rabbids was announced in 2006. A new RaymanZone was established, dedicated to the new game. In a foreshadowing of the way Rayman fans were treated over the next four years, all of the old sites were deleted. Any attempt to access the old RaymanZone, or websites from previous games, now redirected to the new so-called "RaymanZone". Perhaps this was done out of spite/frustration/exhaustion with ARZO… Anyway, it was at this point that the goodies I mentioned before became inaccessible. Of course some people probably had them, but unwittingly deleted them down through the years. I'm sure I'm one of those people, even if I never had many Lums (never posted in the forum or had a spectacular score).
So yeah, things continued in this fashion until 2010, when Rayman Origins was announced. At this point, the "RaymanZone" moniker was retired. The site then redirected to the Rayman Origins blog, and the forum (still part of the Ubi forums) became known as just the Rayman forum. I guess people still called it the RZ forum out of habit though…
I'm not sure when raymanzone.com started redirecting to just the main Ubi site. Probably 2014, when I recall it went down for a while.
Actually, maybe Humch should look into buying the domain from Ubisoft. Then at least people who play Rayman 3 would end up in the right place when they follow the instructions to go to "raymanzone.com" to enter their score…
Re: Rayman 3
That would be interesting to see the return of the RaymanZone (not the forum) i only know the RaymanZone from 2008-2009 (when the site begin to publish concept art for Rabbids Go home)PluMGMK wrote:I'll explain more fully. Oh yeah that's right, I do recall that part when I finished the game and got that code to the site. That would be a problem if people tried to go to that site, since the HOF has been moved here right? I think it sounds like a good idea for Hunch, I wonder what he would think of the idea?Birds858 wrote:That would be interesting to see the return of the RaymanZone (not the forum) i only know the RaymanZone from 2008-2009 (when the site begin to publish concept art for Rabbids Go home)PluMGMK wrote:I'll explain more fully. Re: Rayman 3
A RaymanZone like the old one who publishes news and picture for the new Rayman/Rabbids Game along with the goodies from the old site would be interesting.

Is it just my imagination or does the Teensies voice on DOTK make anyone else think "Seymour, the house is on fire!"

I think a certain someone was confused by it even though he was already registered here. The Jonster wrote:Oh yeah that's right, I do recall that part when I finished the game and got that code to the site. Haha, I just think it sounds very like Agnes Skinner
I have to work on my Rayman 3 score. I have 316,000 at the moment and I was going to submit that but I really should try a bit harder first and at least get the last 4 cages.

Re: Rayman 3
All that talk of RaymanZone reminded me again of those few times I visited it sometime in 2005. I remember seeing a link about the Lums Quest and entering the score code for goodies.

Hmmm, now that I think about it, I may have been ro the RaymanZone forums once, and only once as a kid when I finished Rayman 3 the first time. I wish I knew exactly what the forum used to look like.
Re: Rayman 3
I don't recall ever seeing raymanzone. The fact that I even know as much about Rayman as I do, having only played Rayman 1 as a kid then only finally played the others starting at the very end of 2017 is unbelievable

Are you talking about the fists themselves that have the blur when you punch, like trailing kind of?Aaron wrote:Speaking of Rayman 3, I love that blur effect that some bosses have when getting the HMF (like Reflux). Has anyone else also had that before?
Re: Rayman 3
Yeah, though the boss has a blur effect on it too. Btw it's really cool!Steo wrote:Are you talking about the fists themselves that have the blur when you punch, like trailing kind of?
Re: Rayman 3
I could see it on the PC version playing The Tower of the Leptys in the Reflux battle. I hadn't paid attention to it before but yeah, it's kind of a trailing or after image effect

Re: Rayman 3
Alright, I'm pretty sure that at this point in Rayman 3 HD the mid-air Green Gem of the "Snowboard Race" is the only one I'm missing, but thanks to the near constant lagging caused by the snow effect behind Rayman's board the thing's got ridiculously hard to obtain.
On another note, since I was introduced to Rayman back during elementary school at 2002ish with that modified "Junior" version of Rayman 1 and also R2, I've had the pleasure to witness the pre-release hype of Rayman 3 first hand which of course also means that I've seen all the incarnations of RaymanZone afaik.
How about the official (US?) site of Rayman 3, the game itself? Anybody remembers that? I certainly do...I'll never forget how the site used a low quality looped version of the first few guitar riffs of Madder as background music. I loved it so much that I've printed the main page out (black and white only), so I could look at it whenever I want to instead of using up the then extremely limited internet connection (which was still using our phone lines) to load the page.
Good old dial-up internet indeed. :3
