Re: What next for Rayman's future
Well, some guy started working on a Rayman Legends level editor about four years ago. Actually I might be dreaming but I think he might have got back to it recently…The Jonster wrote:Mmmm, too bad. That would really have been awesome to see; I'm a little disappointed at that, but I wonder, maybe it could be out there on the internet somewhere, and I wonder if maybe someone had tried looking for that engine? I found this, but I'm not sure it's what either of you are talking about or whether it's real or not.Birds858 wrote:I remember seeing a topic about a level editor for Rayman Legends but i can’t find it.PluMGMK wrote:Well, some guy started working on a Rayman Legends level editor about four years ago. Re: What next for Rayman's future
Yeah, you can't really fake that. There was another video where someone went into more depth, talking about hex-editing the maps and everything. I'm pretty sure it didn't go anywhere though.

Guess I can explain it, sorry for the YouTuber himself, if he asks me on Skype (he knows mePluMGMK wrote:Yeah, you can't really fake that. There was another video where someone went into more depth, talking about hex-editing the maps and everything. I'm pretty sure it didn't go anywhere though.

If you do look into it ^, I would like to see the results of your search. I'm sure others here would like to see that too

Re: What next for Rayman's future
I would like to see a Rayman tv series with the Rayman Origins art style.
Re: What next for Rayman's future
I think the series would benefit from returning to the 3d gameplay, there's just so much potential for a game that would have complex platforming stages akin to Rayman 2, and at the same time would expand the combat seen in Rayman 3(Although I would also be fine with a completely new combat system if it turns out well).
Well that's quite a bummer, as it makes my comment from 2 months ago about contacting him entirely pointless, I do however hope that the modding community here would try to play around with the level editing capabilities of the UbiArt games.GOT4N wrote: Guess I can explain it, sorry for the YouTuber himself, if he asks me on Skype (he knows me) I'll remove it, but basically he told me that the project never really started, this was just PoC, but he gave me a few resources about the ideas of map editing, I should look into it one day ^^
That would be neat, but (and this is probably a little controversial) I always thought Rayman character design worked better in 3d, so I would probably like something similar to the original animated series but with better writing and more characters from the games, even if the chances of that happening are fairly slim considering the quality of video game adaptations nowadays.Alexinator wrote:I would like to see a Rayman tv series with the Rayman Origins art style.

Re: What next for Rayman's future
In my opinion, I don't want Ubisoft to name Rayman's next adventure "Rayman 4." The ship has sailed on that. The real Rayman 4 now is Rayman Origins.

Re: What next for Rayman's future
Whether they call it Rayman 4 or Rayman 6, I’m ok with both. Though you have a point, 4 and 5 can technically be Origins and Legends, respectively.
Re: What next for Rayman's future
Or 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 can be RRR, RRR2, RRR TV PARTY, RO and RL.The Jonster wrote:Whether they call it Rayman 4 or Rayman 6, I’m ok with both. Though you have a point, 4 and 5 can technically be Origins and Legends, respectively.

Re: What next for Rayman's future
Or how about Rayman 34, 42, 63, 69, 666, and Over 9 000 ?
Technically if we really count all the "main" titles it would be Rayman 10 (R1, R2TGE, R3HH, RRR, RRR2, RRRTVP, RO, RL, and RA), maybe Rayman X then ? Could be a nice opposition to the O on Rayman's clothing ! (Maybe Adsolution should add the X to Rayman Revenge of the Dark's title ! It would be another reference to Dark Rayman as he has a X on his clothing in this game and Arena ! Rayman X Revenge of the Dark... nah, it might sound like a little too much actually...) Or they could make a reference to this same O with the 10 !... Or simply Rayman 0... I dunno.
We'll see what idea of a title our dear Ancel will come up with, either he will indeed call it Rayman 4 to go with the "fourth adventure" thing he said (could actually be a Rayman 4 for the UbiArt series, although I think it would be something new as every main Rayman trilogy was completely different from one another), or just a subtitle like he does since Raving Rabbids.
"Wait and see !"

Re: What next for Rayman's future
Rayman Revenge of the Dark is a prequel to Rayman 2 (that why it's old name was Rayman 1,5 : Revenge of the Dark) So i don't think that Adsolution will rename to Rayman X Revenge of the Dark.Rayman Saturn wrote:Or how about Rayman 34, 42, 63, 69, 666, and Over 9 000 ?

Re: What next for Rayman's future
Rayman X… Sounds a bit cliché. Could be good though, depending on what they do with it.Rayman Saturn wrote:Technically if we really count all the "main" titles it would be Rayman 10 (R1, R2TGE, R3HH, RRR, RRR2, RRRTVP, RO, RL, and RA), maybe Rayman X then ? Also, I seem to recall that Adsolution was toying with the idea of having Dark Rayman wear an X instead of an O, like he does in Rayman Arena. That was many many years ago though.

Re: What next for Rayman's future
I remember that, I just forgot if she definitely used the X or simply went for the good old O. And yeah, Rayman X would be a ridiculous title anyway.PluMGMK wrote:Rayman X… Sounds a bit cliché. I'm well aware of that, I just wanted to express my stupid ideaBirds858 wrote:Rayman Revenge of the Dark is a prequel to Rayman 2 (that why it's old name was Rayman 1,5 : Revenge of the Dark) So i don't think that Adsolution will rename to Rayman X Revenge of the Dark.
Also the number in a title doesn't surely represent what place it holds in a chronology, many series give numbers to prequels, for example Dragon Quest III is a prequel to DQI and DQII, while DQVI is a prequel to DQIV and V. And there was a Mega man 10 while the Mega man X series existed at the same time, so the X can be interpreted as something other than a number.
But of course I never expect Adsolution to truly add that X, Rayman Revenge of the Dark is a very fine title, the ship has already sailed on that one.

Re: What next for Rayman's future
Well, for years, it was going to have the number "1.5" in there, if that makes you feel better.
Also, closer to home, BG&E2 is going to be a prequel, while BG&E3 (if 2 sells well enough for it to be made) will be a sequel, to the first game.
