What things in games scared you as a kid?

I know I've said this time and time again, but nothing really scares me these days. When I was young though, i had an irrational fear of seeing lava. In fact, even today I still don't like looking at lava. This reminds me of a nightmare I had in college when I was watching some weird show and the characters started singing about hot lava. It was such a dumb song but it kinda gave me nightmares for a few days, oddly enough. Mainly because I still had this fear.

The spiders in Rayman 2 used to terrify me when I was like 10 years old because of their music, though it still terrifies me and makes me panic when I see them and the tension I get from trying to outrun them is still high to this day.

Oh, and let's not forget the zombie chickens in Rayman 3 and the Zombie Pirate in Rayman Revolution.

Which is why The Tomb of the Ancients is STILL my least favorite stage in Rayman 2! Though the music isn't as terrfiying now, it was freakish as a kid! Along with all the strange sound effects.

The first Tomb Raider on PS1. Standing there minding your own business trying to solve a puzzle and next of all a sudden unexpected loud noise and her screams as something is attacking her
