To me its a tie between Band land and Picture city

The Olympus background from Olympus Maximus. Or else the rainbow background from Picture City. I'm too tired to decide right now.

The Glacier Paradise sections from Gourmand Land. The ice, the magarita lakes, the sunglass wearing cocktail straws, and the northern lights make it such a great background! I would love to see it return in 3D.

Hm, since i recently replayed Rayman 1 I might as well throw my input for my fave background for this game. My favorite backgrounds primarily come from Band Land or Picture City. Though...

I agree with this ^, this is definitely my favorite background from this game, and the music was also very fitting for such a background. Shame it doesn't appear anywhere else IN the PS1 version, and ONLY that stage. Curiously enough the music, too is heard in that stage only in the PS1 version, but at least I can hear it in other places in some other versions of Rayman 1.

I think I should replay/play the other versions before I put my input for the other games too

Edit: OK, so I didn't know that background also appeared in the Saturn and Jaguar versions too. More playing is needed

Well, the rainbow background appears in the Saturn and Jaguar versions too. In fact it's overused in the Jaguar version, even appearing in the first Mama battle (with the pirate ship).

Well, the rainbow background appears in the Saturn and Jaguar versions too. In fact it's overused in the Jaguar version, even appearing in the first Mama battle (with the pirate ship).

In my defense I haven't played either. Though now that I think about it, I believe that I have slipped up and worded my previous response incorrectly. Again, me being a silly eejit like usual!

I like the starry background too.

From Rayman 2, I like the background of the Echoing Caves right before you reach the Spiral Door. Nothing like a beautiful dark blue sky and the moon for a relaxing night. Although considering the nature of Rayman 2, can’t really relax there.

Mine is Definitely that added background at the beginning of the Sanctuary Of Stone and Fire in the dreamcast version of Rayman 2 The Great Escape.

That volcano was not there before but it looked really nice Back there at the start of the level.

Yeah, the Teensie HIghway backgrounds are cool too, but I think my favorite Rayman 3 background has to be the Land of the Livid Dead. So calm and peaceful, and it seems to be near water. I also like Clearleaf Forest and the Fairy Council, as well as The Longest Shortcut and the Bog of Murk too to some extent.

The backround remains pretty consistent throughout the stage, so I'm not really sure what you're talking about, I'll just say that generally I like how it's integrated with the theme and atmosphere of the level.
