I like the Dreamcast, PC, and PS2 versions the best.

3ds For me!
Re: Rayman 2
I keep forgetting about that one. The 3DS version is actually quite good too. I know it has more glitches but the only one that actually makes a difference is the 1000th Lum one. It's still easy enough to get if you know how

Re: Rayman 2
Really? In that case, I'll give that version a go too! I've played almost all the versions except 3DS so far.

It's basically the same as the Dreamcast version for the most partThe Jonster wrote:Really? In that case, I'll give that version a go too! I've played almost all the versions except 3DS so far.

Re: Rayman 2
I see..I still would like this version for myself also to see that glitch.
Re: Rayman 2
I wanted to see it myself. It's not hard to get though, you literally walk to the left of the web then just jump on top of the spider which deflects you up so you can collect the Lum.

Re: Rayman 2
Ok, I'll remember that
That spiral door stuff I brought up earlier still intrigues me, I'm going to take some time also testing my theory to see if spiral doors also dont show up for the other versions (so far only confirmed the PC does show up and the PS2 doesn't.)

Re: Rayman 2
But the peculiar thing is that when you do that and get to the top of the skull's eye socket where the 1000th lum is. For Some reason, Rayman softlocks himself and the game is therefore unplayable.Steo wrote:I wanted to see it myself. So how can anyone get it?
You can jump as far as you can But since the web is not working as it is supposed to and the use of pushback collision damage from the Spiders is the only option(which doesn't work that well).
Then...
I Wonder if anyone succeeded in getting that lum. Probably not.

Re: Rayman 2
I believe from what I’ve been told that anyone who gets that lum then immediately exits the stage to prevent the soft lock. But since I don’t technically have the game I can’t prove that.
Re: Rayman 2
Yeah as soon as you get the Lum you just pause the game and exit the stage. This still saves itThe Jonster wrote:I believe from what I’ve been told that anyone who gets that lum then immediately exits the stage to prevent the soft lock. I got the lum, but it’s take time to realize that i should pause the game to save it.R4Y_ANC3L wrote:I Wonder if anyone succeeded in getting that lum. Probably not.

Not sure if you have said so before but have you played the PS2 version? The free roaming, the added dialogue and powers really make Revolution the leading candidate for the best version.Steo wrote:I still favour the Dreamcast but that's just me

Re: Rayman 2
While those changes were nice, what I did not like was the fact that they replaced almost all the music with ambiance on subsequent visits. I liked hearing the game's music when I replayed stages. Well, most of them. And they replaced the fight music in TSOWAI with generic robo-pirate music I can hear elsewhere, I liked the unique robo-pirate music I heard there.Ray502 wrote:Not sure if you have said so before but have you played the PS2 version? Re: Rayman 2
I don't mind the ambience sound from re-visiting at all, though.
I like hearing the one when you are in pirate territory.
It is in Raytunes called "Pirate Construction", I believe.

It apparently is so, despite the game being awfully broken.Ray502 wrote:The free roaming, the added dialogue and powers really make Revolution the leading candidate for the best version.
Re: Rayman 2
Well I do like it and Plum probably remembers one of my earliest posts saying it ran badly. The PAL one really runs at a very low frame rate but I suppose a lot of people don't pay attention to that.
Revolution technically is a better game in various ways but I'm just a solid frame rate type of person. I even installed Windows 7 just to play Rayman 3 at 60fps with no lag
There are a lot of glitches in Revolution too that I experienced, though none were game breaking and just required me to hit reset.

While I didn't like that they replaced it, I do admit that i like some of the ambiance tracks themselves. Kinda wish we could switch between the two tracks though.R4Y_ANC3L wrote:I don't mind the ambience sound from re-visiting at all, though.

You're not wrong about that though. Especially since many people like and prefer this game as the "best" version, including myself.
