You're doing great so far
And no, it's never too late! :)

No seriously, it feels like watching through a time window or something, I feel like I can perfectly remember the times when I "grinded my ass off" as a little kid to crack 500k, 600k, 700k and so on. Great times.
Hehe, I'm not technically new to this game, I still remember those times of playing the game too as a kid 12-13 years ago, though I wasn't on this forum back then (only been here like 3 months or so??), and I wasn't focusing on scoring, but rather playing through the game. I still am though.
Steo wrote:I kind of hope more people will start playing but I'm gathering everyone already maxed out their scores after 15 years of playing it.
Hmm...I still wonder about that. Maybe for many people, but not all, I'm sure.
Steo wrote:I'm just enjoying getting better scores. It's great fun now that I'm actually starting to improve a little bit. Though I'm 26 and not a kid I absolutely love this game :P

I'm glad we're able to bring up some nostalgia for you guys too :)
I echo this sentiment, I've always loved this game, and I'm glad to hear you all remember the good times. Nothing will stop me from coming back to play this game again even if I take a break from it for a few years (like I did in college). I just wish I had been on here a long time ago. :mryellow:

The only games I've really played anything like this at all over the years was 3D Mario games and Crash Bandicoot, but the scoring in this game is what makes it so much fun to play :)

I'm really enjoying trying to perform or find out combos :P

Reading all of this is giving me the urge to start up my PS2 copy and try to get back in that top 10 on the HOF. :P

Do it Ray, we believe in you :P

I don't think I'll ever get near the top 10, maybe the top 50 but that's about it ;)

I think, in a way, we are succeeding in bringing people to come back and retry the game :)

That's a good thing then. If everyone enjoys playing the game then why not :)

I kind of wonder about the Lums glitch though and whether that really plays a factor at all in the end considering MandM81 mentioned it for consoles on HH. Maybe if the score is high enough it might not really matter.

Thanks! :)

As a piece of advice, when you arrive to the Céloche fight, don't collect the yellow gems first, but after you beat him, since for every boss you get 1500 points so you can get a combo.

Oh and also thanks Steo. :)

I think I've tried that. Haven't succeeded, but I'm sure it's possible.
It IS possible! :D
I only got 1500 though...too bad! :P

Well, it's 3000, since you also got 1500 in combo. ;)

D'oh! What am I doing? I guess I was a little too excited over this that I had forgotten score counter points

Oh btw, stlil going strong!

Edit: I can't seem to jump over the Knaaren with the Lockjaw. I wonder if jump height matters here since the version I'm using has one of the lowest jump heights (GC).

I failed to do it on PC too but I'm probably just doing it wrong.

I ended up getting through anyway. Not by jumping, but by the left spot glitch that 1234 used. It took me about 10-20 tries to be able to pull it off.

I'll have to try that later because I failed miserably. I need to have the lockjaw too or it's useless.

How exactly did you do it if you don't mind? I'm fed up failing at it

I think it would be easier if I just showed you this video, since it was complete luck that it happened to me the first time and I probably have to work on this at some point to be able to get a good recording. :)

Maybe I'm just in the wrong spot. I'm holding strafe but he goes past him then back past him again.

This glitch, like the jump, takes lots of practice. I think this was easier for me due to the fact that the jump height is low. Maybe.

Is it literally just about standing in the right place because I was trying it even without the lockjaw and it won't work

This is probably one of those places where it's "try later" since it's not that easy to do. In some versions.

I managed to get past him without the lockjaw by luring him then jumping off the ledge, but it takes that long to lure him and goes by chance that the lockjaw will probably be gone before you get to the gems

I tried doing that too before doing the glitch, but failed each time, plus the lockjaw time expired before I could even get past him. :)

Well that's the only way I'll be able to pass him because that other way won't work. It's either version specific or I just plain suck
