The idea here is to start off with a story from a game and have things go well but then there's a twist. The twist doesn't have to make sense but it has to hinder the current game's progress meaning you can no longer continue and must restart from the last checkpoint or reset the entire system (restart the story).
At the end of your added sentence, highlight the last word so it stands out to make it a checkpoint (bold/underline/colour).
So if the first person posts saying:
Mario set off to save the princess. He made it right up to world 8-4 without losing a single life.
Now the next person is set up for a twist if they want and the first poster has set a checkpoint at the word "life"
The second poster can now say something like:
Mario set off to save the princess. He made it right up to world 8-4 without losing a single life. Suddenly Sonic comes from nowhere, speeds past Mario and saves the princess first,
Now the third poster has the choice to either continue the story and get it back on track, or decide that the game cannot be continued. They can say:
Mario set off to save the princess. He made it right up to world 8-4 without losing a single life. Suddenly Sonic comes from nowhere, speeds past Mario and saves the princess first, meaning Mario has no reason to finish the game.
The alternative would be something like
Mario set off to save the princess. He made it right up to world 8-4 without losing a single life. Suddenly Sonic comes from nowhere, speeds past Mario and saves the princess first, but Sonic was in the wrong world so the princess was in another castle.
Have fun
So I'll try start off with:
Rayman had just arrived arrived at Band Land and set out for his journey in Bongo Hills
