Ouch so heartburn can occur at any time. That's not a pleasant thing < says.

< had a bit of a rough night and got just short of 5 hours sleep. On with it anyway < has some Linux testing ahead.

Re: The You Game!
< tends to use Rayman 2 keyboard controls in all Rayman games (at least the non-UbiArt ones) since it's the only one with non-remappable keyboard controls. < is not alone in this since < remembers pok2's original patch for Rayman 1 shipped with his personal config that also used Rayman 2's controls.
Re: The You Game!
Maybe it's just < then since < is so used to using controllers. < is just so used to every game having space as the jump button, < doesn't recall ever playing a game before with a different jump button.
< assumes it's just something one gets used to and < never had a PC at a young age really. < thinks it was around 2004-2005 when < finally got a computer and then < had no internet either, so < had to just use MSpaint and play solitaire

Re: The You Game!
Controls are something that one must get used to, so < can understand how ^ feels about using a controller to play PC games. < would like to try using controllers to play <'s games sometime, though < is perfectly ok with keyboard controls also, considering how adaptable < can be.
Re: The You Game!
< just finds the 8 directions in older games far too much of a limit compared to the analog stick when it's a game that doesn't use the mouse.

< is finally fully awake, though < hopes today will not be a complete repeat of yesterday where < spent THE ENTIRE DAY reading.
< wants to get some other things done today aside from <'s reading.

Re: The You Game!
Indeed it is. < never played games on anything other than a keyboard in <'s childhood. < did find it annoying how they changed the default keyboard controls in every major Rayman game. < probably died a disproportionate amount of times in Rayman 2 due to pressing Ctrl instead of A to jump.Steo wrote:Maybe it's just < then since < is so used to using controllers. < is just so used to every game having space as the jump button, < doesn't recall ever playing a game before with a different jump button.

< isn't sure whether or not < ever played that. < does remember playing some of the other cute 3D games that came with Windows in those days though!Aaron wrote:< just played a bit of Purble Place's Comfy Cakes mode on Windows 7. < loves it!

Re: The You Game!
Yeah, < never understood the change of controls either. < would switch between the two games consistently as a kid, so < would often press the wrong controls, resulting in < dying in R3 (which is probably not unheard of but unlikely since the game is relatively easy in <'s opinion) and sometimes not progressing any further in R2 due to <'s poor skill in walking shell sections back then. < wonders how differently < will play if < used a controller to play.PluMGMK wrote:Indeed it is.

Re: The You Game!
Well < finds with the analog stick that not only is there a much wider variety of directions, but also it's well... analog. < finds it much easier to maneuver the shell and the likes of the shock rocket with an analog stick since it's able to turn slower if needed than just pressing the button.

Wow < is really slipping today with <'s question making. < thinks that < should probably give that a rest for today and try again tomorrow.
Time for < to have some fun!

Re: The You Game!
< has only realised that Rayman 2's PC widescreen patch is used in a very similar manner to what < done on Xbox and is changed with a hex editor. < sees that the value at offset 0009C498 is changed from 00 00 80 3F to 00 00 40 3F which makes it widescreen, but now since < knows it's similar to the Xbox, < may very well be able to fix the edge rendering glitch. < will try and < will report if < has success

< installed VIrtualbox along with Ubuntu inside the computer < is using now. Guess it didn't take < that long. < will still need to run tests on it.
< hopes ^'s testing goes well too.

< doesn't like the fact that < unintentionally put input for a cheat activity in GTA San Andreas.
< is off to a good start finding the snapshots. Maybe after finding them, < will focus on the oysters next.

< wonders how long has it been since ^ started playing GTA San Andreas.
Re: The You Game!
< had started since like about three or four weeks ago.

< remembers the last time < was stuck on a game for 3-4 weeks, and it's usually totally worth it for <. Hope ^ is having fun with the game
< would like to finish <'s SMB2 walkthrough tonight but who knows? < jumps from thing to thing so often these days that it's unlikely for < to finish one thing in one sitting.
