Re: Important Information
The moderator permissons for the new RZ moderators are actually very huge. We can do the standard things like lock, unlock, stick, unstick, move, etc. But we can also manage forum settings, ban members, edit custom titles, edit member avatars, edit member profiles and signatures, manage the member database, and more stuff like that. And the last set of permissions I wrote are things a general super moderator can dream of. And because of the huge contact with the admins, setting up a compo isn't hard for us.
Re: Important Information
So does a moderator have authorisation to set up announcements without permission from an admin?
Re: Important Information
Yes, if you really have to.
Re: Important Information
Hmm, moderating seems a fair position then.
Re: Important Information
But wait xenon would you know if a mod could set up announcements, since you are one.

Re: Important Information
Then moderators on RZ are administrators in my opinion, and 4 or 5 admins is quite a lot
Re: Important Information
Yes, isn't that NOT GOOD?
Re: Important Information
But they also have some admins that come and check what is going on.
Re: Important Information
Mods do have powers to add announcements, but announcements have to be important, I just wondered whether you would need admin's permission to create such a topic.Jman wrote:But wait xenon would you know if a mod could set up announcements, since you are one.

Re: Important Information
Since admins are active here, it is better to ask their advice ^^
Re: Important Information
Those extra permissions are pretty handy. The admins haven't got time to manage the forums all the day, and if only the real moderator functions are given to an user, it will all be too limited. I remember it, we always had to ask the admin all the day to get rid of spammers like matyuv and t3h1. When the admin gave us new admin-liked permissions, we warned/banned them in no time.Hunchman801 wrote:Then moderators on RZ are administrators in my opinion, and 4 or 5 admins is quite a lot
Re: Important Information
Well, I guess it's good to hear it is under control...

Re: Important Information
Yes, even if I do not think a forum like RZ needs so many admins.
Re: Important Information
Hmm, what powers do admins have that mods do not?

Re: Important Information
I suppose they can edit the whole community whereas “moderators” can only edit the RZ community... but who cares?
Re: Important Information
Not me, but good for them.
Re: Important Information
Good for who?
