I have two of those, both of which are dead.Haruka wrote:Another thing that I remember now, my father also owns a ZX Spectrum, but it is missing its cables.
Re: Old Technology
What I tried to mean with "missing" was, I never more saw GRUNDIG's presence elsewhere since these televisions. Their televisions were really good (too bad that the Portuguese Tecnical Support of GRUNDIG was terrible, they didn't know how to fix stuffPluMGMK wrote:Haruka wrote:We still have 2 of those, from the [I'm not sure what you meant, but this is the wrong word] GRUNDIG brand.
Re: Old Technology
I use the amplifier of a cassette deck player for my surround system.
I also have some kind of old Mitsubishi TV.

We still have a TV that plays VHS tapes.
And we have a SNES program on our computer that plays old games like Bubsy. I'm not sure if that counts, but it plays old games, so...

Is that SNES program a commercial program? If it is, I think it can be compted.iHeckler9 wrote:And we have a SNES program on our computer that plays old games like Bubsy. I'm not sure if that counts, but it plays old games, so...
I still remember to use floppies 5 years ago to save WORD documents at school, since USB Sticks weren't acessible to anyone yet. I had those days that I got frustrated for those 1,44 MBs not being enough. I had to ocult the file in the school computer, hidding it for the next day picking more floppies in order to split the documents in more than 1.
Re: Old Technology
Behind me there sits the most beautiful computer that was ever built ( well, second most beautiful, since I like the silver version much better ):

Re: Old Technology
Ok so my fiancé wants to watch a VHS tape I used to watch loads as a kid when we move into our new house so well that can be arranged.
Re: Old Technology
Well I do have a lot of old consoles and a CRT, so I guess that counts as old technology. I don't have an ancient dinosaur PC anymore, but I kind of wish I did. I'm sure Hoodcom has plenty of them.

I recall talking with you a while back and you mentioning VHS tapes. I miss having a VHS player tbh, I'm just old fashioned I guess. Like I said also, I was the type of kid to put LEGO in the VHS player.Cairnie wrote: Sat Aug 11, 2018 8:10 pm Ok so my fiancé wants to watch a VHS tape I used to watch loads as a kid when we move into our new house so well that can be arranged.
Re: Old Technology
I used a VHS player a lot when I was like six or seven years old. It just so happens that I had full seasons of Sailor Moon on a VHS tape back then.
Re: Old Technology
I used to record episodes of Fairly Odd Parents on a VHS when I was about 12.
Re: Old Technology
I had a PS1 before, but because I have a PS2 and since it's backward compatible, I don't have it anymore because I thought I didn't need it. I did enjoy playing on my PS1 though. Speaking of, I might go back to Rayman 1.
I also remember playing a lot of Croc 1 back then. Ah, the memories.

Re: Old Technology
I kind of miss my old beige dinosaur PC that had Windows 98.

Re: Old Technology
I used to have a load of beige dinosaurs running various old versions of Windows, but then the motherboards all died.
Probably due to my doing too much tinkering…
Re: Old Technology
I had another one of them in the shed that had XP on it, but then I tried to find it one day and it was just gone. I must have thrown it away without realising.

Thrown it away? How'd you manage that?Steo wrote: Sat Aug 24, 2019 11:41 am I had another one of them in the shed that had XP on it, but then I tried to find it one day and it was just gone. I must have thrown it away without realising.
Re: Old Technology
As stupid as it sounds, It's likely that there was so much stuff out there that I threw it out thinking I'd never use it. That was a big mistake though, we need to appreciate those old beige computers.

I'm not sure how much of them I've kept in the garage. It's possible that even the cases were thrown out…Steo wrote: Sat Aug 24, 2019 11:44 amAs stupid as it sounds, It's likely that there was so much stuff out there that I threw it out thinking I'd never use it. Re: Old Technology
I do remember my first one being a Packard Bell with Windows 98, which I didn't get until like 2004. I had no internet, but I liked playing Solitaire, using mspaint, and using a Sega Genesis emulator to play Bart vs the Space Mutants.PluMGMK wrote: Sat Aug 24, 2019 11:45 amI'm not sure how much of them I've kept in the garage.
