About Ubisoft, RZ, PC, and stuff..

Jinzo's most funny work was his Rayman comic. Great MSPaint graphics with alot of image cutting and pasting. Those great comic pages gave me a big smile! And RZ's spam invasions from 2003 weren't much of a problem since phpBB made it possible to delete it in minutes. And you know that this whole thing is different with GrewPee..

There's a whole topic about it in the French forums. The French version is already full of spelling mistakes, but the English one is even worse. Jinzo IS awesome =X

So this is where i can talk about RZ? I've been wanting to learn more about it, so I'll bump this in case I have questions. I kinda wonder what it looked like in its heyday before RPC came around..
Everything that I've learned in my time here, all the criticism, the obstacles I've faced in my life, I'll use them to improve myself and be a better person.

Apparently it was full of kids and admins who didn't give a toss. The mods barely knew what they were doing, and at one stage they decided to clear out the whole forum because they were sick of all the rubbish posts.

Lols I’m glad that nobody’s going to do that here since there are likely more than 5000 rubbish posts from RD

The bad management created so much drama that the forum got hacked many times, making the situation even worse.

Oh yeah, I forgot you were one of the mods! I suppose it's safe to assume you were one of the most, if not the most competent?

I think we can assume that.
RZ has pretty much disappeared at this point according to the Wiki page, and even typing raymanzone.com just brings me to ubisoft so it's obvious which one of the two forums was better in the end.

Seems that the migration from Eve to vBulletin a few years ago mutilated the database (to use ARZO's own terminology
), which as I keep saying is a damn shame since it means I'll never find Xeiqu's rant about vortigaunts.

I've never been there, but everyone always seemed to say bad things about it in the past on here.

Re: About Ubisoft, RZ, PC, and stuff..
Well, I must've been 14 or 15 at the time so I'm sure I could have done things better, but for the most part I think I did a pretty good job. Back when I was on the team the other mods were fine, but the admins were Ubisoft employees who didn't have the time or will to take care of the forum. On the very few occasions they actually visited the place, some of them made pretty bad decisions (such as bans) that were considered unfair by the vast majority of users, leading me to create Pirate-Community as an alternative. They probably didn't realize because they spent so little time on the forum, but this was enough to cause a lot of users to move here. After that, even moderator choices became highly questionable and some of the new guys made the place even worse. So many users became disgruntled that ARZO was created and the place eventually hacked, but you all know the story from here.
Were some more posts lost in the process?

Well, I also tried to find a cringey moment from 2010 where some young'un called RRR "Rayman 1" but there was no sign. A lot of posts from that era seem to be gone (no great loss, one might say!) which seems to have been a side effect of the migration. That or an unannounced covert op by the KRZK in the interim!

Re: About Ubisoft, RZ, PC, and stuff..
I remember the forums but I never actually used them, but I also remember how they had official wallpapers, games list, and there was even a website where you could play Raving Rabid mini games through your browser. All that was taken down when the new website about Rayman Origins came about.
Ask me any questions you might have about it and i'l try my best to answer if I can.

After all those years, this would take persistence to the next level.

It’s true that they kept beating a dead horse for a while, but now the poor equine is buried and decomposed.

Re: About Ubisoft, RZ, PC, and stuff..
I wouldn't bash RZ myself because I really don't know very much about it, but I kind of feel like Ubisoft wouldn't care enough about Rayman to maintain a Rayman forum for such an extended period of time, unlike RPC which clearly has people looking after it who care. I feel like if Ubisoft really did care, then RZ would still be here today.
It seems to me like Ubisoft are more obsessed with releasing Assassins Creed every year than caring about their beloved mascot.

But yeah, RZ existed while I was way too young. Never been on it.
