why was it "terrible"
imo it was pretty good
not as good as the og versions ( rip intro ) but still good
Weird colour shading on water.
Other weird shading.
Bug where you can't finish your save if you revisit a level before finishing TOTL.
Not comparable with the other versions score-wise because of the removal of the 100k restriction.
The only alternative, the leaderboards, let in all kinds of cheaters, before being shut down altogether.

also the xbox one x version apearently fixed all of this
I was about to disagree with this statement when out of curiosity I double checked Xbox(dot)com and noticed that the XOne port of Rayman 3 HD has received a 10 mb patch 2 months after it's release(porting from the 360), something that the "base" Xbox 360 version never got afaik.

I had turned on my One X a couple weeks back and the game had an update for me.
I take it that the snowboarding section does not lag horrendously then anymore like it does on the 360 for no effing reason considering how it did not lag even on the friggin' PlayStation 2?! xD
Yeah funny enough, even with the PS2 being the weakest hardware of the lot, the game still worked surprisingly well. It did have a few differences like 30fps projectiles & some animations and stuff, but it makes no difference to the gameplay.
I still couldn't get that friggin' green gem that you've supposed to jump for in that section, because the big lagspikes are making the already precise and not-too-easy trick next to impossible.

Yes and I'm absolutely sure that it's the HD port's fault, cuz I've already done the same thing back in the ancient days when I 100%-ed the game on PC, PS2 AND on the GameCube as well and I don't recall having any difficulty with it whatsoever.
On another note: Listening through the new remastered R3(HD) tracks on RayTunes I noticed a very faint female vocal in the backgroundest of backgrounds during the first half of "The Hoodboom".
Man, I'll never get tired of occasionally revisiting R3's soundtrack now and again. :3
Same, I love hearing the soundtrack of this game. When I used to have pseudo-rotating songs in my signature, Rayman 3 songs took up the space the majority of the time, though that's not to say I don't like the other soundtracks. I like all of them.
Steo wrote:Even on the OG game I still struggle with that
I remember having to retry it like 3 times back when I did my first playthroughs at the game's original release on both the PS2 and the PC, but I always got it eventually. On my 360 howewer at this point I've attempted it like 8 times with no luck whatsoever.
It always lags out at the worst possible moment when the most precise I'd have to be. xD

Yeah, I first noticed that a year or two ago, and was quite surprised by it!
I think it's the only thing I struggle with in SBTC. Other things that cause me to struggle would be the hoodlum surviving in the GC version of R3, doing the 4-matuvu combo in FC, the 2 green gem combo in DOTK, getting that freaking jump height to that ledge in TOTL so I can get the Lockjaw can early....and more stuff. Gotta lot of practice to do I want to go as high as I can.
I put my score in the HoF for now since I'm sticking to Xbox. I have 610525 so far, with room for much improvement on BOM, SBTC and TOTL. I'll just update it again as I improve it.
I still need to practice all the things I've learned from everyone and put them to use in my score. I'm definitely using the PC version at this point. Ofc my score won't be good but I can improve later when I've gotten better at incorporating glitches such as the IPG (which I still suck at doing ).
