As for me, finally finished all the theory combos I've come up with! Some look easy, some may be downright hard. But hopefully they'll be helpful!

Re: Rayman 3 scores
I do indeed. But blimey m8! Top 20 already?? Now that's an impressive feat for only 6-7 months knowledge of R3 (I think). I'm glad you're still going strong though, gives the topic fresh activity.

Re: Rayman 3 scores
I was halfway through Rayman 3 on PS2 for my first time ever when I joined RPC. I didn't just play it constantly, but when I did I'd be practicing combos. I'd go a month or 2 at a time without playing it but then I'd come back to it expecting to suck and I just played the same as when I had left off. I started to practice like crazy and even after that I went a month without playing. After I got my Xbox with the 1GHz CPU and double the RAM, I have just been on Rayman 3 almost constantly practicing.
It isn't even close to easy to get high scores and it requires a lot of patience, along with plenty of restarts. Though my score might not look great to someone at the very top of the HoF, it was incredibly hard to even get this far and it's becoming incredibly difficult to improve my scores further at this point. That doesn't mean I'll give up, I'll just need more practice on certain stages.
I'm happy about the fact that I managed to break 700k though, let alone 750k, so for me that's pretty amazing

Congrats man! Keep it up!
Today I improved my score in TLS from 32K to 36.944!
I'm planning on doing DOTK next since I missed a secret area there and to get the last happy Murfy face.

Re: Rayman 3 scores
That's good for LS. The only way to get any better is with the annoying crazy shoe and I think that would require a lot of luck. I haven't managed it myself yet.
There's a lot of secrets on DOTK. Part 2 has a green gem, part 3 has one, part 4 has 2, part 7 has 2. Just be sure to get all of those and that's definitely an easy smiling Murfy for you
Edit: Oh, and part 7 only has 2 if you defeat the stumblebooms before breaking the cage. This way the Teensie gives a green gem instead of the vortex.

Re: Rayman 3 scores
Yeah there are a lot of places with green gems on that level, and that also includes 1 in part 1 and 1 in parr 8, making it a total of 7-8 if you manage to get the 2nd one in part 7. For even better results, make sure to try getting the green gems with a power up when necessary. The ones in part 1 and part 3 require something else to be done with a power up so don’t worry too much about those. And the ones in part 4 and 8 can’t be grabbed with a power up, obviously.
Re: Rayman 3 scores
Oh yeah the one in part one also past the knaaren, that's right. There's just so many green gems in the level that I forgot.
Re: Rayman 3 scores
Thanks for the tips, guys! I'll make sure to remember those secret areas
UPDATE:
Now that I improved my 40K score to over 57K, I got every happy Murfy stamp in the game!
Also, now that I got every happy Murfy stamp, it's time I show my improved scores on every level so far (I'll improve these later)
Here they are:
FC: 23684
CF: 59550
BOM: 31436
TLOTLD: 80505
DOTK: 57440
TLS: 36944
SBTC: 39876
HH: 50723
TOTL: 58819
Total score: 438.977

Re: Rayman 3 scores
Nice on getting all the happy Murfy stamps. Every time you replay a level now your score will just improve each time, it's just having the patience for multiple restarts if combos keep going wrong.

Re: Rayman 3 scores
You're doing great Aaron, keep it up!
So right now you're on the Fairy Council. I can only think of 2 green gems to get in that area. Both are in the last 2 areas, that's my hint for you.

Re: Rayman 3 scores
Yeah I know those 2 gems, one is at the Heart of the World where you climb up that platform sticking out from one of the pillars and where you activate a pressure switch by stepping on it and the other one is at the end of the Funkyboard segment
But thanks.
And also, because it's late, even though I'm posting I turned off my PS2 because I would not even realize how fast time flies when I get to the end of the level.
Alright, I explained it wrong. What I wanted to say is that that's the level I'm thinking of improving my scores on next time when I have free time.

Re: Rayman 3 scores
If you want a hint it's the secret in the wall in part 5 and when you get the green gem in part 6, make sure you get 5 yellow gems before it so you get 3k in combo for it. If you don't get 5 before it then I'd advise reloading that part again. That extra 1500 can make a huge difference.
Re: Rayman 3 scores
But who knows, maybe if I reload that part again the game might do the same exact thing that happened to me in TOTL... I don't know why, but the game usually has that thing happen when I reload the Funkyboard segments for some reason

Re: Rayman 3 scores
Uhh...I don’t follow. Could you explain that thing that happens to you (in funkyboard sections) in more detail?
Re: Rayman 3 scores
Well, I haven't explained it before, but it's the same thing that happened to me in TOTL when I died at phase 4 of Reflux 2 and I had over 58K at that part at first, but after I reloaded it the game didn't even remember my previous score before I died at that phase and just thought I didn't even score at the tower!
So basically imagine that happening only that I reload the Funkyboard sections. I hope I explained that clearly.

Re: Rayman 3 scores
That's really odd though, that should never happen. I really actually don't know why your game done that, it's odd. I've never had it happen me.
Re: Rayman 3 scores
It's been a while since I've played Rayman 3 and I'm really happy to have reached #20, but I think I might get around to playing this again soon for the fun of it. I might try play it on PC and try to match or beat my score on Xbox. It's a lot of work to get there, but the game is pretty amazing for it's scoring feature
I liked how people were having nostalgia when we were posting in this thread a few months ago too. It was a nice atmosphere.
Also this was pretty funny despite that BOM meme we had going here back in April

Re: Rayman 3 scores
Had to unexpectedly reset my PC, so my savefiles were lost
Now that I have to start fresh, I'll also spend the next couple of weeks/months building up a nice Score again. And for the heck of it, I'll first see how far I can get with no IPGs; I'm pretty confident that this time around, I can get the 900k without them.

Re: Rayman 3 scores
Sucks that you lost your save
Maybe I'll start fresh on PC myself to have fun and see if I've improved enough to at least achieve the 767k I got on Xbox again. I'll be keeping the save file safe on the Xbox just in case, but replaying it on PC won't do me any harm and I'll be still getting more practice
I'm already really happy with the score I have, but even though it will be really tough for me, I'd like to see if I can possibly improve any further. It took me crazy hours and spending an entire day/night on one level at a time while restarting hundreds of time to even manage to achieve the score I have. I won't pretend it was easy for me, because if I did, I'd be lying.

That sucks because you even beat MandM81, the Rayman 3 legend too and got first!Maz wrote: Fri Nov 23, 2018 3:42 pm Had to unexpectedly reset my PC, so my savefiles were lost![]()

I know how that feels and I hope you can achieve first place in the HoF again. I know, it isn't about competition and winning and more about having fun, but you got first place.
Re: Rayman 3 scores
If I'm not mistaken, Maz said he uses a keyboard to play somewhere on this forum a while back. It's not just impressive that he's that good at the game to get a score that high, but with a keyboard too? I feckin' suck at Rayman with a keyboard and I just couldn't get used to the 8 direction limitation
