Kinda, in Rayman on GBC, they are described as fairies.

True yeah actually, I had forgotten that. It was a serious question though as to whether they were characters or not ;)

If i hadn't played Rayman for GBC, I wouldn't have guessed that, though you have a good point, whether they are characters or not is a bit questionable, since they are only seen as "characters" in the GBC version and no other Rayman 1 game (well I'm not sure about R2GBC but that'scuz I haven't played yet).

Nope. Lums and Tings are currency, this is a source of currency!

Clue #1: This "character" is an infinite and regular source of currency.
Clue #1A: This character comes in several varieties, with ten of each kind.

Hmm, that's a good one Plum :?
I'm guessing when u say income it's for rayman 2.
Maybe Ly? Her bonus levels?
But that doesn't work with the variety bit :|

Clue #2: This character can be used in a couple of ways. One example is a platform.

While Globox is totally amazing, that's not the right answer in this instance.

Oh yeah I forgot, sorry for making you wait for a long time

Clue #3: According to the English RayWiki, these creatures bring cohesion to the world and can take you from one place to another.

Purple Lum's are not listed as creatures on the Wiki, only Hoodlums Revenge seems to call Lums creatures in the manual and UbiArt calls them creatures too. You swing on them, not teleport from one place to another.

From the Lum (UbiArt) section of the wiki:
These Lums are shown as sentient creatures with arms, legs, wings, eyes and mouths; unlike other games where Lums are simply orbs of energy with wings.
So a Purple Lum is just an orb of energy with wings according to the wiki.

No, what I meant is you can use them to get to places you otherwise wouldn't be able to reach. Also sorry for calling them creatures, I didn't know what they were before but now I know, thanks. :)

By the way the answer is correct since that's what I meant.
