They're still classed as main series games even if people don't agree, but that's not my point anyway. I love the UbiArt games just as much as Rayman 1 and 2.

They don't have interesting stories and I don't care about that is all I was saying :P

Yeah, most of the Rayman games have had some closed up stories, I think Rayman 3 had the most story of all of the games. You had a lot going on in that game regarding the story and the characters were the most interactive they have ever been compared to earlier games and any thing that came after 3. Rayman Origins may not have had as much of a direct story but there is a lot to learn from the Bubble Dreamer, story wise, regarding the different characters you play as which the older Rayman games didn't do except for Rayman 2 where you can collect lums to gather knowledge of the world. So Origins, and Legends do have some story advantages over the older games.

So I've almost collected all the normal electoon cages that can be found in each world (3 normally), and I think the only ones I have left are the ones I get for speed, though I also want to go for the trophies also. Can anyone give me some tips on how to blast through the levels quickly? :hap:

Just don't let go of the run button and just go for it basically. Sometimes pressing the button to spin can make you faster. I have a habit of pressing it just before jumping.

Also prepare for multiple failed attempts and to be annoyed, especially since it's a restart if you die

I could help you out, but I’d need to get my Xbox 360 running so I can play through the levels again— the last time I played Origins was nearly a year ago

I don’t suppose you know how to get the Lum medal in Punching Plateaus? Consider it an info trade

Thanks. :)

Yeah I'm seeing now how many times I'm going to be restarting. The first stage and I had to restart more than 10 times
It's amazing though how easily I got used to the game in a couple days after i finally went for it, I could play this for a long time. I can't wait to play Legends too when I finish 100% this save file I'm using.

What levels haven’t you completed the time challenges on yet? I can send you videos of me speedrunning levels in Jibberish Jungle pretty much straight away, but you’d have to wait a day or so for anything else since I only just started playing on my video laptop.

Thank you for the offer! :)

But I think I'll try getting them on my own first with the tips I got, no offence. If I really, really need help getting them I'll ask here. Though I'll say that I finished getting all the ones in both Jibberish Jungle and Ticklish Temples.

It’s fine lol. I really doubt I’d have the patience to record every single level in the game anyway

It's all about just moving as quickly as possible, there's no secret to it. Just use the hit button to spin when landing or before jumping in open areas because it boosts you a little.

Some levels I done were about 20-30 seconds earlier than the time needed, but there are some harder ones towards the end, especially since you're rushing and can easily get killed.

If you hit the button to spin and then jump off of an edge you can get a small speed boost but any amount is good, the speed comes from the momentum from the spin but you have to time the spin and the jump to get the best result.

Also I know one way to save yourself if you fall down or something in the game, if you are by a wall while you are falling, wall jump from it, hit the attack button in the air, then helicopter toward the wall, and repeat this until you get to the top again. each time you should be able to jump your way back up avoiding death.

I've used both of these tricks very often in both Origins and Legends. They actually prove very useful :)

Edit: The wall one is particularly useful when you're mini because of the way he punches, he basically floats for longer too.

I accidentally discovered the 2nk trick that I mentioned when I played the Rayman Origins demo for the first time before I got the game, so I known that trick for awhile. another trick I found for speeding was to (only when apropriate.) jump through the air currents. (Much faster then gliding and running through the air currents.)

Spinning and jumping into those currents actually works wonders on the speed trophy stages.

I don't recommend spinning and jumping through the currents every time you come across one unless you are good with dogging all the obstacles at the fast pace. If you don't have to much to dodge a lot then you can spin and jump without fear of death. Really, it just depends how the level is that you are playing.

Yeah true. I usually turn back in the opposite direction and slow down quickly in those cases, but in the really open spaces it can help and also on the ice levels especially.

I 100%ed the save file I was working on, which is kinda impressive for me since it took me only a week and I thought it would take me much longer. Ironically for me, getting the speed trophies was far easier than the lum medals were, so once I collected the medals everything else was easier. Well there were the tricky treasures and the LOTLD I dealt with that was challenging too, but I think the lum medals were probably hardest for me since there multiple instances, sometimes in the same level, where I ended coming up a little short. I still had a really deadly time with this game and I will definitely pick this up again soon. :)

I haven't even collected all of the Lum medals in any version of the game yet since I keep switching to another platform and replaying the game from the beginning. I'm going to get them all on at least one platform and then reach the final level of awesomeness in Rayman Legends while I'm at it.

I guess I'll either get them on Xbox or PC for Origins, maybe even both in the end.

Exactly the same issue here, except there’s one level in which the scarce amount of lums is actually preventing me from getting the medal achievement (Punching Plateau, as you may remember me asking about earlier) :oops2: Now that you’ve finished it yourself, do you have any tips?
I had a really deadly time with this game!
