Re: Rayman Origins
The advice that i can give is to make sure you look everywhere for Skull coins, those are really important! Also I'd take a look at my surroundings before collecting a lum king so I can maximise how many lums I can double. Thothegrammarteensie wrote: Sat Oct 20, 2018 1:06 pmExactly the same issue here, except there’s one level in which the scarce amount of lums is actually preventing me from getting the medal achievement (Punching Plateau, as you may remember me asking about earlier)The Jonster wrote: Sat Oct 20, 2018 11:21 am Ironically, getting the speed trophies was far easier than the lum medals were, because there were multiple instances, sometimes in the same level, where I ended coming up a little short on lums. Now that you’ve finished it yourself, do you have any tips?
Oh, honey, you're not the first one to do that.thegrammarteensie wrote: Sat Oct 20, 2018 1:06 pmAre you an Aussie, or am I not the only user who likes stealing terms from Steo?![]()
Though I wouldn't call me doing it "stealing." I adapted some of the words he speaks into my vocabulary.
Like you hardly hear me say "fuck" or "idiot" anymore. I've started adapting some other words to from other languages like "chaffed" and "cheeky" as well.
Aww, feck it! I'm gonna play again tomorrow. It's just so FECKING GREAT!
Maybe I oughta give my 3DS version another go..
Re: Rayman Origins
I know right! It's awesome! I just played it and now I know why Steo loves it, because it's such a fun game! Plus the soundtrack is nice, I love the art style and pretty much everything so far about it even though this is my first time playing it. Btw, I already beat Jibberish Jungle, it's that fun!

Re: Rayman Origins
I loved all that before I played the game
Steo talked about how much he loved it with me before I started an actual run and yeah the experience was amazing when I finally did it!
Some of the levels were pretty challenging but I made it through without throwing anything at the wall and I did manage to get everything. It took me time for certain levels though cuz of both restarting and messing up often (yeah I'm looking at you Moskito levels).

Re: Rayman Origins
Oh yeah it's a really good game, in fact I'm going to play it tonight. I think Origins is fuckin' deadly!
Am I or the Irish really that amazing that people like to use the slang terms I use?
I like the words we use, if you ever watched Father Ted, then you'd adapt a "colourful" vocabulary from it

Re: Rayman Origins
Yeah, I don't really like the Moskito levels either, but I really like the main levels, especially the Tricky Treasure ones! Sure, they're challenging, but that's what I like about them and that's what makes them fun!The Jonster wrote: Sat Oct 20, 2018 5:31 pm Some of the levels were pretty challenging but I made it through without throwing anything at the wall and I did manage to get everything. Re: Rayman Origins
I don't mind the moskito levels and don't find them hard at all. You should just get killed on purpose if you miss a lot at a part tbh. That way you restart from the latest checkpoint.

Re: Rayman Origins
Well I never said I didn't like them, they're pretty fun for me.
But yeah now I'm thinking which one to play tomorrow, 3DS or my GOG version lol. ButI think in terms of how difficult it was for me. I'd say Lum Medals>Tricky Treasure Levels>Land of the Livid Dead>Moskito Levels>Speed Trophies>Normal Levels
Yeah that's what I usually do and in some cases I end up restarting entirely, in the case of a few levels. I remember one Moskito level (ticklish temple one) where I started from a checkpoint and got every lum possible, and ended up short by a few lums.Steo wrote: Sat Oct 20, 2018 6:09 pm I don't mind the moskito levels and don't find them hard at all. Re: Rayman Origins
I would find the Tricky Treasure easier than some of the speed trophies and only find a couple of them a little challenging at this stage. Again though I prefer a controller for this game.
On moskito levels you have to find almost every Lum. There was one I missed 2 Lums on but then it turned out I had missed a Lum King because I found it on my next try and got about 370 Lums
As I said though, I still haven't gotten all the Lum medals (because I haven't gotten around to it), but I think the ones I've gotten are really easy considering there's no rush. It's just taking your time and collecting everything.

Well, they are, what I meant is that I like the normal levels better. The Jonster wrote: Sat Oct 20, 2018 6:14 pm Well I never said I didn't like them, they're pretty fun for me.![]()
Re: Rayman Origins
Yeah same here definitely. I actually like the swimming levels in Rayman games and I usually hate them in every game.Aaron wrote: Sat Oct 20, 2018 7:10 pmWell, they are, what I meant is that I like the normal levels better. The Jonster wrote: Sat Oct 20, 2018 6:14 pm Well I never said I didn't like them, they're pretty fun for me.![]()
Re: Rayman Origins
Those are also good, especially when the lums sing, it's very calm and relaxing.
Re: Rayman Origins
Yeah those songs are just so unbelievably cheerful
I'm going to go on the game right now and play it

Re: Rayman Origins
Tbh I don't find the Lums' singing relaxing at all. It's stressful because I'm running around trying to get everything I can while they're still red! Plus, I don't really like how it interrupts the main music (which I believe is why they dumped the Lum King in Legends and went with the purple chains instead).
Re: Rayman Origins
No, I mean like when they sing "gloo gloo"

Re: Rayman Origins
You mean the Sea of Serendipity music Lums of the Water/The Lums’ Dream? I agree for the former (in fact it’s one of my favourite Origins tracks) but for the latter the depressing key creeps me out more than anything
Re: Rayman Origins
Yes, I meant that, and yeah, that's true, while in the beginning it could sound relaxing it gets only sadder after that.

Re: Rayman Origins
Oh, those two! Yeah, I love those.
Re: Rayman Origins
I love themtoo.
I agree with how it can be stressful, but at least it's not as annoying as trying to get the purple chains in Legends because you can mess up there and miss the purple ones and as a result, not getting all the other purple lums in that chain because at least in Origins you don't have to worry about that. I like that idea better though even though it can be sometimes stressful.PluMGMK wrote: Sat Oct 20, 2018 9:44 pm It's stressful because I'm running around trying to get everything I can while they're still red! Re: Rayman Origins
First time I ever played Rayman was this game. I loved Rayman Origins since the beginning, weird enough, I never finished it. However, I did finish Rayman Legends instead. oof
