Oh yeah I meant the water level songs too, not the Lum king theme :hap:

Legends is amazing but I just really love Origins for some reason. I even prefer the cartoon art style. I've completed Legends too and it's also a really awesome game :D

Agreed with you there Steo. I just found the sound effects, the music, and gameplay perfect and fun. Just something has the charm to make it look great, sound great, feel great.

I confess that before I played this game I thought the songs sounded really weird. Now that I've played the game and seen where it plays, it makes so much more sense to me. This soundtrack is pure gold. :proud:

I didn't listen to the soundtrack before playing the game so it made sense to me from the start.

I just have Mystical Pique and Moody Clouds to get the Lum Medals and Speed Trophies in for PC now then I'll grab the last few on Xbox also. I just couldn't be bothered because I already got all the trophies/achievements on Xbox 360/PS3 and Lum medals aren't needed for it. Now I just want to get them for the sake of getting 100%

I 100%ed everything the first run, and it was great. Though until you told me I didn't realise that the Lum Medals, the Speed Trophies and LOTLD aren't required to finish the game in PC. Although I really wanna try other versions too since you mentioned the Speed Trophies and LOTLD have achievements in versions other than PC, Wii, and 3DS.

I'm going to be playing Rayman the rest of the day, no doubt. :proud:

Edit: Think I'm going to play that 100% save file again. I want to see how high I can get with these things. Like I know I can do better than the times and lum counts I have right now, and the more practice I get, the better my eventual walkthrough video for this will be. Gee, I'm quite obsessed with the game now.

Welcome to the party

I just couldn't be arsed with the Lum medals as I said but I got all the speed trophies twice already. I'll finish the PC version tomorrow 100% and then do the same on PS3 and Xbox 360 since the game is amazing :D

Same here.

I'm only recently playing this game but I already love it :D

I mean, I just love the environments and the transitions (for example in Gourmand Land how you go from the icy part to the fiery part with the Baby Dragon Chefs and Chili Toothpaste), the soundtrack is awesome and I like how everything is hand-drawn.

Also the font in my signature is thanks to Origins so that's pretty cool I guess :)

I love the creativity on Gourmand Land (and the rest of the game I guess). That's why I like Picture City in Rayman 1 also. Really colourful and creative.

Yeah for example how you can grab onto the chili lianas (or whatever they're called) that have corn on them and then how the corn creates like little sponge platforms you can jump on, that's pretty cool and creative. :)

Also on the topic of Rayman 1, although I have a mixed opinion of it (I think there's a side of it which has fun gameplay and there's one that's mostly hard and trial and error), I have to give it that it has an amazing soundtrack and yeah, there's a side of it which is really fun. I also have to thank that game as it inspired some of Origins :)

I have no complaints about the game at all. I have no reason to complain about stupid things like the magician being a teensie or fixate on any other little things such as the story consistency etc. because I don't care. I just love the gameplay and it's a deadly platform game :hap:

Oh and how you need to jump on the Magician's hat to talk to him is pretty funny. :)

I’m glad to see you’re enjoying the game, reminds me of a week or so ago when I played the game the first time, was really such an amazing time. :hap:

Fair enough. Personally I think it’s a really challenging but fun game and I hope someday you can pick it up again and play through without trouble.

I was completing Band Land when I was 8-9 so I'm sure you'll get the hang of it if you keep trying. The game is all about timing really so make sure you have game mode on if you're using a modern TV.

We have a modern TV in our living room but I rarely ever have a chance to play my games on it so I instead play on the one I have in my room which isn't a smart one. What does game mode change though? As far as I know, it only makes the screen look brighter and have more vivid, popping colors.

I might just try playing through Band Land again when I have time actually but first I'll probably focus on getting 1.000.000 lums in Rayman Legends to unlock the last hero (Rayomz) and play some Rayman Origins.

Edit: Yeah but you were probably born in the 90s and discovered that game way earlier than me because I found it by chance by looking through the cabinet where I store all my PS1 games not so long ago

Yeah I used to play it in like 1998 or 1999

Game mode makes the TV have much lower input lag. Like without game mode, the screen can have about 100ms+ of delay meaning that while on screen you're still on the platform, you have actually already walked off the edge but the TV is displaying it too late if you get what I'm trying to say.

You should always enable game mode and if you don't like the colours then just adjust them in the picture settings. Even test it yourself, just jump and see how long it takes for Rayman to leave the ground, then enable game mode and do it again. You should immediately notice the difference how he jumps almost instantly with game mode enabled. Playing Rayman 1 with a lot of input lag would be setting a huge challenge to yourself and since the game is giving you trouble, this could be a factor.

I wish you luck with that, I know you can do it. 😃

Ah, so you recently discovered the game and played, that makes sense now why you feel that way about the game cuz I had those feelings at some point too when I first played.
I am sorry if I had given you a hard time. :)

Yeah I know I can and thanks for the encouragement, I'm nearly there. :) (currently over 970.000 lums)

Edit: Also, whoops, I didn't notice this post, thanks for the suggestions. By the way, what TV is ^ using to play Rayman? :) (out of curiosity)

What I meant was when I first played a version of Rayman 1 (Advance) I thought it was really hard at first too and wanted to quit at Picture City since I kept dying and using so many continues there and it stopped being fun for me temporarily. I never gave up on it though and I eventually did finish it lol despite all the troubles. 😄

I have a 4K Samsung TV (UE50MU6120) and I use an OSSC on it. I have also played it on a BEKO 14 inch CRT TV. I would recommend having PS2 component cables on a modern TV if you don't already (the ones with green, red and blue cables instead of the yellow, white and red ones) you'd likely have less delay that way than using those composite cables too as the TV has to try deinterlace the image before displaying it. Rayman 1 is 240p but modern TV's often still try deinterlace it anyway because they don't understand the signal.

I prefer to play video games on a large crt tv. The quality isn't the best on a crt but the quality isn't that good on modern tvs either, unless you got one of the new oled tvs'. The colors on the flat screen tvs' in particular, aren't too good (unless you have an oled), for instance on dark scenes on an led display it doesn't get dark enough because of the backlighting, that gets me everytime. I usually adjust the picture settings on my crt to the best quality instead of getting it as bright it can get. (the tv itself is 30 inches, the screen is a little less than that but it's bearable.) Through my years of using different crt tvs' and messing with the settings of different models I can say the flickering is not caused by the fact that it's a crt, the reason they look so bad out the box is due to 3 main factors; the contrast is too high, the color is too high, the sharpness is too high. (it's actually great to have the brightness up high, just not the contrast.) (the cables also help but I can make a 320p cable display look magical on a crt.) I play Rayman Legends on it, little to no input lag compared to the competition of tvs', more deph because of the glass and curves and not to mention if you get a well made crt they sound greater than most pc sound sets. I wouldn't had went into so much detail on why they are good, but alot of people hate on crt tvs.
