Re: Rayman 1
The PS3 will lag on games if you are not using an HDMI cord while playing games on an led/lcd tv. If you are using an HDMI and it still lags, to reduce the input lag, you might want to turn your tv's picture setting to game mode. Exceptions to this if if you get some special converter for your video plugins but usually you don't, or if you do it just makes it lag more at times. Also if your tv has an option for smooth motion or anything like that turn that on. My Vizio led tv has an off, low, medium, and high setting for smooth motion. I would just put it on medium. That is what I usually do with led tvs'.
Re: Rayman 1
On game mode the motion effect is automatically just disabled or at least it should be. Lag isn't really noticeable on modern games compared to retro so it's different. It's probably just the emulator Sony use for PS1 games that has a delay as I said.

Re: Rayman 1
It may be, though I don't remember it lagging from input on PS1 games, (I always played with the actual discs for PS1 games) but I did notice it on PS2 games that I downloaded. Maybe I just didn't notice the input lag or is it exclusive to games that you download from PSN? I do know some PS1 games from the PSN store had some issues that were never on the disc version such as Spyro 3 playing the wrong music tracks on certion stages.
Re: Rayman 1
Well on the actual disc versions of PS1 games they're fine, the PSN ones are what I was referring to. They're the ones that have issues such as input lag etc.

Re: Rayman 1
The games all run on the same emulator so the input lag probally has to do with their copy of the roms somehow. Some of the psn versions even have slow down while the same game on disc did not on PS3 hardware.
Re: Rayman 1
Emulators most definitely have input lag, that's what stops people from using them. As I said though, input lag is only noticeable to us on retro games where every frame matters.

Re: Rayman 1
Emulators do have input lag. I didn't say emulators don't have input lag. I was saying that since when you play on a physical PS1 disc on PS3 and it runs better than the downloaded game that it wasn't the emulator but the rom that is downloaded causing the input lag.
Re: Rayman 1
Emulators are fine with me but I actually buy and play the games. Some games I use emulation on other games that cost way too much

Re: Rayman 1
On PlayStation network on the ps store you can buy these games, they have an emulator that plays these games. That is what we were talking about.
Re: Rayman 1
oh whoops.
I'm talking about emulators on the PC.

Re: Rayman 1
If you have the physical game you can legally back it up to play on your PC I heard, just do not redistribute it. (u.s law, I cannot confirm this for other countries.)
Re: Rayman 1
I've honestly never using the retail disc to play Rayman 1 on a PS3 and didn't even know you could. I thought it only worked on a PS1/PS2.
Re: Rayman 1
Oh, I knew that. Because one time I went over to my cousin's house and popped Worms World Party and it worked. I just heard it doesn't work for PS3 Slims though.
Re: Rayman 1
That's odd because I've had PS3's for years and never knew this. Is it by any chance only the original 60GB model that plays PS2 games you guys are referring to?
Re: Rayman 1
I'm not sure if PS2 games can be runned on PS3 however. Sorry

Re: Rayman 1
Only the very very original and pricey orignal PS3 can run PS2 discs. All PS3 consoles can play PS1 discs. You can download some PS2 games and PS1 games on PSN store and play them on all PS3 models.
Re: Rayman 1
I knew about only the first models playing PS2 games (I have a YLOD model like that in the shed) but I never even tried inserting a PS1 game into a PS3. I just wouldn't have expected it to actually work. I guess I have to try it with Rayman 1 during the week
Re: Rayman 1
How do you cut out sprites from Sprite Sheets? It just seems too hard for me. Can someone help?

Re: Rayman 1
I know how to do it on PhotoShop if you have access to that program. (it's a paid program.) I know there are other ways but I haven't the knowledge past PhotoShop.
Re: Rayman 1
I done it with Game Makers image editor. Assuming they're all the right size on a grid, this actually makes it easier. You can literally choose the amount of rows/columns and specify the amount of pixels it is.SrRayman wrote: Fri Oct 26, 2018 2:51 am How do you cut out sprites from Sprite Sheets?
