So then ^^ has been building computers since before ^^ was even 12? That's something special :hap:

< only started doing stuff like custom builds in the last few years. Aside from that, < used to just swap out components like PSU and GPU etc. but not until < was like 16.
Fifo wrote: Mon Nov 26, 2018 10:53 pm < says you’re right ;)
Ah yes, < worked with enough computers and numbers that < remembers some components by the model number :P

< is looking at those voltages though. 1.63v on CPU, 2.73v on DIMM

< knows it's just the way it's designed, but 1.63v would break <'s CPU and 2.73v would certainly cause smoke from <'s DDR4

Well, < built <'s first computer when < was 12. It was the summer though, so it's been a decade plus about half a year. :hap:

< thinks that's amazing that ^ got into building computers at such a young age. It took < until somewhere around 2013 before < actually built a system from scratch. < was used to buying OEM computers from stores like PC World and then upgrading them, where in reality one is just robbing themselves blind by doing such a thing

<'s finally put <'s soldering iron to use and modded one of <'s Game Boys with a variable clock. It's especially fun for messing around with LSDJ and changing the pitch and tempo of songs. Now <'s got 2 lovely modded bois :hap:
gameboys.jpg
Speaking of LSDJ <'s been playing around with it too and has finally managed to make a little tune despite this software giving < a headache in the past. It borrows one of the melodies from <'s previous tune but this one gives < a bit more of a piratey vibe.

<'s really impressed with what <'s seeing :o

While < has a backlit original GBA, a backlit original Game Boy is something really nice to have. < assumes that's a potentiometer on the top of the yellow one for adjusting the clock, that's really cool stuff right there! :)

< looked up LSDJ and it looks like something < could have a lot of fun with. Maybe < should get a flash cart and an old Game Boy to toy around with for the fun of it.

< really should get another Game Boy Color for nostalgia too. :P

The purple/white backlight makes the screen look especially beautiful :)

< agrees, it really does. :)

< always found it cool to have consoles/handhelds modified in a way that they're different from most other people's. That Game Boy really is beautiful, it's making < want one! :P

<'s backlit GBA actually suffers from a lot of motion blur, < isn't sure if it needs some sort of modification or if it's just a bad quality LCD.

< recently got a text from <'s best friend in Virginia, apparently she broke up with her boyfriend (who has now become a bit of a drug addict, while being jobless and homeless as of late). Even though it's not <, < is a little disappointed in how things turned out, since <'s friend has never held down a boyfriend this long and < was hoping they could be happy together. < hopes she can get through the pain of letting him go. :?

< couldn't resist but have a look on adverts after looking at ^3's original Game Boy consoles. :P

The only ones < can see are listed as "for repairs or maybe they just need cleaning". < would like to take a chance depending on the sellers price as < never owned the original Game Boy. <'s first one was a lime green Game Boy Color. :hap:

Edit: < will look elsewhere as it turns out they sold them, but they couldn't be bothered to edit their ad to state that. :P
Edit 2: Wow, a lot of them on ebay have the same problem with lines on the LCD.

< thought of an idea for a movie set in a universe where the flat earth conspiracies are all true. It would be a found footage film where 2 people go on a totally off the radar expedition to the North Pole and find out that the earth actually is flat, and they absail down the edge and find something crazy like a god or some future technology. Then they try going home but get caught by NASA on the way.
Brilliant, right? 8)

Makes < genuinely wonder how long it'll be before a flat earther makes a movie...

< just finished testing out <'s new router (Xfinity wifi apparently) that < helped <'s dad set up. < thinks it is around the same where <'s room is, but the connection is better in areas of <'s house where it's notorious for a bad connection, such as <'s parent's room.

Good to see ^ btw. :)

< has been waiting for an answer from that seller as to why <'s parcel would be in Portugal. They seem to be taking their time to answer. :mefiant:

< has disabled the Touch screen feature but the computer still doesn't comply with < and the screen kicks about further more. :tssk:

< wonders if ^ disabled it in device manager? If so, < finds it a little strange that it would still react anyway.

< finds it strange as well.
< went to the "action settings"(if < Remembers correctly that was called) and < turned off the Touch screen feature there.

Is there something specific that < forgot to do? As far as < can remember, Windows 10 said that what < did was the correct thing to do to get rid of it. :mefiant:

< would disable it in device manager. Right click the start button, click device manager and then disable "HID-compliant touch screen" under "Human Interface Devices". ^ just needs to right click that and choose disable and then there's no way it can still work.

It should look like this:

Filing these instructions for future Windows 10 computers. lol

< will have to try that today. < trusts that it should work since you are the techchician After all. Hopefully, it won't do what it can to stop < from doing those instructions.

< Thanks ^.

< says no problem ^. :)

It should definitely disable the feature that way, since that literally disables the driver (and basically the hardware) from working in Windows itself.
