Re: Rayman 1
I got my old TV back yesterday and set up the PS2. I had to run the NTSC version of Rayman 1, but the TV still works in Line 3x in generic 4:3 by using 1366x768. It actually looks well even in generic 4:3 considering that the TV is 4K and actually upscales nicely. Aside from not being able to get PAL to work on the TV (only Line 2x with forced 16:9) I don't know what I was being fussy about, considering the NTSC games are the full speed ones and I want NTSC consoles anyway.

Re: Rayman 1
I never got around to finishing my PC/GoG version of Rayman 1, so tomorrow when I have free time from studying, I'll give it a go. I know the cages are positioned differently but I'm going to find them myself to see just how good I am at this game.
Re: Rayman 1
Well I've never looked up a cage in any Rayman game aside from getting help from Master on SOSAF when I couldn't find the one where the spiderwebs were. Aside from that and complaining about the Lums being hidden in different places in Revolution, I always found everything else myself because that's much more fun than looking it up.

Re: Rayman 1
True, it’s always so much more fun to find things yourself cuz it’s always fulfilling that way. Though for me there are some exceptions. Like those fecking blue coins in SMS.
But anyway I just hope when I start playing tomorrow that I haven’t gotten too rusty either from the last time I played the game. Like i don’t expect to use continues but I expect to lose lots of lives but the precise platfroming always makes it an interesting challenge to do.

Re: Rayman 1
Well I have only bothered to complete the PS1 and Jaguar versions so maybe I should plug the PC into my TV and play it tomorrow. I'll test it tomorrow and see if it works.

Re: Rayman 1
rayman games on the gbc make me wonder how Rayman would be like on the nes
Re: Rayman 1
Rayman Advance is getting hard for me. Finding Elections are harder than it sounds.
Anywho I hope I can find all of them.

Re: Rayman 1
I wished they made Rayman Designer for the PS1. It would have been awesome creating levels with the more vibrant and colorful backgrounds/scenery in that version than the PC version.
Re: Rayman 1
My NTSC copy of Rayman 1 (PS1) arrived today and I opened the case to see "Rayman 2 coming in 1999".
Anyway, the bad news is that the PS2 motherboard isn't here just yet. I can't wait now.
EDIT: Also yes I know, Greatest Hits! I couldn't be bothered spending a fortune just to play the game when I already own the PAL black label.

Re: Rayman 1
Rayman looks more cute and funny in the original Rayman than other Rayman games. Rayman just looks like a kid full of excitement.
Re: Rayman 1
He looks like a kid full of excitement in Origins too because he just looks extremely happy.
I like all of the styles in a way because they're all different. The first one takes me back to playing the game as a kid, so that's kind of nostalgic for me.

okay thanks
Re: Rayman 1
So I found this quite funny, because it's never happened me before. I was playing Rayman 1 on Saturn and I got to The Hard Rocks part 2. I got to the magician who had his hand out, but just as I got to him he ducked and started pointing at his hat, as I had gotten over 100 Tings by picking up the Tings nearby.

Re: Rayman 1
NTSC is 60fps and PAL is 50fps. Any games that were 30fps in those days had their PAL counterpart run at 25fps.

but what about the others (saturn ,pc,gba, dsi, android and IOS, that one wired web game EDIT: jaguar )
Re: Rayman 1
I believe those run at 30fps
(except Jaguar/Saturn versions, which run at 50/60fps)
PC version of R2’s framerate does fluctuate tho
