At this point I believe his name is "Jeff". This is because you can access the area on the PC version using the code "PLAYJEFF", as discovered and revealed here: viewtopic.php?p=1223298#p1223298

EDIT: 9000th reply to this topic BTW. :partyhat:

Ah right I see. Now it makes a lot more sense that he was talking about a box. :P

Who is the red adult "globox" in the Globox villiage?
Capture.PNG
A similar looking character is seen in the Ps1 advert for Rayman 2 and in the Rayman Adventures trailer.

It seems likely to me that perhaps Globox's beta design was infact red, and a throwback to this was made both in The Globox Villiage and in Rayman Origins, where the rest of his species are red and orange, but Globox is said to have turned blue after an "incident". I'm not sure however, that this explains the red "globox" in the Rayman 2 Ps1 commercial or in the Rayman Adventures trailer, who in my eyes more closely resemble Catastrox.

Interesting. I actually never paid attention to that and I actually always thought it was just Uglette from a distance.

I noticed a little way back ago the discussion of Rayman 2 beta and scrapped level designs and such, there's an interesting piece of footage here.
Ly's Swimming animation is still in Rayman 2 by the way, this is visible using Raymap.

That's really interesting. I thought I was imagining things when I seen Ly dive into the water in the video. :P

Even the HUD changes and stuff, it originally looked so different. It still never seizes to amaze me how many secrets/mysteries are in these Rayman games.

Wait, there was a red Globox there in Rayman 2 all along? :fou:

That idea that his design was originally red makes sense, but why change it and then make so many implications that it ought to have been the other way? :mefiant:

I want to set up my Dreamcast and actually find out if it's red or if it's actually Uglette and that picture just has odd colours.

EDIT: Yeah it definitely is a Red Globox with a male voice.

I'm confused now, how come I never heard about this before? I mean, I know the information was out there to be found, but surely this would have come up in previous discussions. :?

Ribshark said he's internally known as "Globu". I seriously don't know how I missed it, considering the Dreamcast version is my favourite and I always play that one.

That Red Globox has a very curious pattern on it as well. Up close, he looks nothing like Uglette. Very interesting to know.

Looks like there isn't… :? Are you sure it's possible?

Anyway, here's something that's bugging me. How come some purple lums start dripping these lovely little purple sparks when you get near them, like so:
purple-droplets.jpg
And others don't, like this one:
no-purple-droplets.jpg
I've looked at the logic and variables with Raymap but there's nothing obvious. I wonder if there's an in-universe reason.

Also, I noticed something weird. When you enter the last room of the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava part 2, if you go back out the entrance door and look up (using first-person camera :chinois:), you can see that the Nettle (that you just passed on the Nénuphar) has frozen in place. :paranormal: I was going to post a screenshot but then I realized that wouldn't make any sense.

Also I just lost over half my health in part 3 of the same level. God I suck at this right now. :fou:

the thing with the purple lum is most likely a glitch or the game has to load too much and just unloads whats not important

Do any of them in Sanctuary Of Stone And Fire do it or is it just level related as to which ones do it? It is kinda weird and now I'll be fixating on it when I play the Dreamcast version again. :P

Well, none of the ones in the Bayou do it. For the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire, I'm not sure, I think the one at the very end does it.

Actually, one of the ones in front of Axel doesn't do it either, but I think that's just because you can't get near enough without actually grabbing it.

EDIT: Okay, the Tomb of the Ancients part 2 has some more interesting specimens:
This one starts dripping as soon as it comes out of the cage, and never stops. Notice that the drops fall straight, even when the lum itself is moving.

The lums in the middle of the Zombie Chicken ambush don't seem to drip at all.

These four lums do drip. Notice that the faraway one hasn't started yet, but it did when I got closer.

I thought I'd taken more pictures of this one. Anyway, as you can see, now I'm standing on the railing, the lum is dripping, even though it's not actually in my frame of view. The point is, when I get down off the railing, it stops dripping, even when I look directly at it.

I guess there's some minimum distance for dripping, which is set unreasonably close for some instances. Possibly something that could be fixed via hacking.

Aglagl is his original name, yes. You're saying in German it's different between platforms?

The Dreamcast version also calls it Aglagl and even has a yellow glow around him. I didn't know the N64 version calls him that too, that's kind of interesting.
