You should. :)

I don't really care that you can't swim in that game. The reason why is probably because the ocean or sea over Liberty City is all polluted. I did not read about it to be sure. A friend told me about it at my original school since he is also a GTA fan.

These hidden packages should be "fun" to find.

But I will focus on that when I complete the game OR get access to the whole map.

Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories isn't expensive so even if I do still find my PSP copy, I might still pick up the PS2 version of both that and Vice City Stories. Maybe a copy of Vice City also that I don't have to fix with toothpaste.

Analysis on my progress in GTA Liberty City Stories:

~ Halfway through Liberty City Stories and almost done with the game.
~ Start a Story Mission
~ Get this message: "8-Ball won't budge until you pay him $20000."

I will have to halt on the story a little bit longer now.

It doesn't help that you are trying to gather money in a mission and there are too many idiot drivers in Stauton.

I'm just starting GTA: Liberty City Stories now on PS2. I'm looking forward to seeing how this goes. :D

Since I have finished some GTA games I should probably think about posting screenshots of the game stats showing how much I accomplished during playing time. It should be fun. :P

Maybe it's just me being fussy, but GTA: LCS runs really really badly on PS2. It seems like the fps is almost constantly in the sub 20s.

I find that the framerate tends to drop when it rains in that game.

I suppose the bad frame rate in Revolution doesn't make it a bad game, so this should be the same.

Massive bump.

Very recent video done by one of my favourite GTA youtubers that I thought was worth some attention.

Nice, I'll have a look at this tomorrow since I'm pretty tired now. As for GTA, I haven't played in a while, but I was playing San Andreas on my original Xbox a couple of months back. Other than that, I did play a bit of the story in GTA V a while back too, and I did play online with some friends a few times also. It's been a while sine I have though, and I want to sort out my GPU issue before playing GTA V again.

Got into GTA series thanks to a YouTuber who was making a fan made Medievil remake (RawTalent95 if I remember correctly) and got Liberty City Stories for PS2 in 2012. Months later I got GTA IV and oh boy, I loved the game so much I spent countless hours with it.
Then I got GTA V for PC back in 2016, which I still have to complete due to shifting my focus on another game back then, and I'm planning to redo the whole game.

Even though I like Vice City, I've always thought that it was kinda unfinished, the second part of the map felt kinda lifeless, you can notice some odd looking buildings which may have had some function in beta, there's also the fact that the main antagonist-Sonny Forelli barely appears in the game until the end, I'm sure that he supposed to have a bigger role given his cut dialogue and such, I think it's due to fact that it came out just one year after Gta 3 and it supposed to be DLC for it's predecessor before it became it's own thing.

Well, I haven't played Grand Theft Auto series in a long time. But, I do feel like giving GTA III another try at some point. It's more primitive compared to the other games. But, I always loved the noir and grim setting that game has. I never seen it replicated in other GTA games since.

While I really like GTA San Andreas, I need to give GTA III a go myself. I used to play it as a kid, but I never actually finished the game.

I played GTA1 when it came out, and cheated my way through it. I don't think I ever beat the expansions (London 1969/1961), cheats or not.

I then dabbled in GTA2, but never got passed the first area. Got bored.

I tried GTA3 shortly after it came out, and didn't get attached at first. The controls in transition to 3D felt difficult to adjust to, and they were somewhat awkward too. The visuals were too gloomy. I dropped the game early on.

Then I tried GTA:VC and liked it much better. The controls improved somewhat, I got better too, and most of the time the game was sunny and colorful - a joy to play. This was the first game of the first 3D trilogy I completed.

Then I started playing GTA:SA and in parallel went back to GTA3 and completed it too. It wasn't as hard as it was at first, as I generally got better.

Anyways, back to GTA:SA - I started it some time in 2005, dropped it and resumed many times, and as recently as this year was still playing some missions. The trouble is - it's TOO big. Too long, too many things to do. Right now I am stuck at the flying school mission. I tried quite a few times, and still could not get the hang of it. So I dropped it again, and not sure I will ever get back to complete it fully.

Naturally, when I learned that subsequent GTA games are even bigger than GTA:SA - I found no incentive to try them. I get easily overwhelmed by worlds that are "too open".

But I do have the bundles of The Classics and The first Trilogy and I like them. :)

I guess I did play the first one a lot, and I remember typing "theshit" as the character's name to unlock all the weapons.

I don't remember much about the second game, but I remember playing the third one a lot with my uncle and thinking it was incredible, then thinking wow Vice City is even better. When San Andreas came out, I literally just played this game for years every day and never got bored of it. I was very much into this game for many reasons, it was just a really good game. GTA V, I got on midnight release for PS3 in 2013, and I ended up getting it again for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. I got a platinum in the game on PS4, and I got 100% story completion on Xbox, but I never bothered to get the online trophies again on Xbox since most of my friends either had a PS4 or PC by this stage anyway.

I liked Vice City Stories on PSP too, and I had Liberty City Stories but never completed that one. I'm also not too familiar with Chinatown Wars so I can't really say much about that one.

There is a rumour about incoming remasters of 3D Trilogy aka GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas this fall, they are apparently being remade in Unreal Engine meaning that most of the mechanics are going to be reworked. Not sure if it's actually legit, I'd believe it when Rockstar themselves confirm it via trailer.

It's nice I guess, but it's hard for me to be excited by remasters of PC games. They end up being mostly the same thing with better graphics. Now, HD remakes for consoles make sense, because they bump the resolution from 480p to 720p to 1080p. Except the PC allows you to set almost any resolution you want (sometimes with some patching), so what are you really getting other than some upscaled textures?

I guess in this case a new engine may affect how the game plays, but would it be for the best? The Sands of Time remake did not look so exciting when they announced it...

Yeah, remakes would have certainly been a better idea, some of the mechanics from the originals haven't aged that well (mainly the shooting tho I don't personally mind it), remakes in the style of Mafia: Definitive Edition would have been lit, some of the voice actors would have needed to be replaced tho, Ray Liotta (Tommy Vercetti) and Young Mayday (CJ) aren't in good terms with Rockstar.

I'd like to see it happen though, I never really liked the Android port of San Andreas since even the way the cars work is weird, that stupid thing where the gears just change really fast and the car shakes. I don't know why they never fixed that, and they used the same port on Xbox 360.
