Anyway, let's have an unofficial contest this time. We're re-entering last year's banners, and everyone is welcome to submit a new one. There will be consolation prizes, and if someone feels like coming up with new forum and topic icons for a change (SVG please), please don't hesitate!

Re: Any questions on this board?
It certainly sounds cool but also pretty daunting for graphic design amateurs like us.

Well, you're right. The idea seemed cool to me at first, but now I understand how difficult that would be.Hunchman801 wrote: Wed Dec 12, 2018 12:32 pm It certainly sounds cool but also pretty daunting for graphic design amateurs like us.

Re: Any questions on this board?
Sorry if this is the wrong place for this but, I noticed that some of the users' image signatures are hosted by raymanpc.com, how can you do that? Do you have to upload your image to the wiki and then go to the User Control Panel to add the link?
Re: Any questions on this board?
Usually, they have the signature as an attachment in a post, (usually when they enter one in something like SOTM (signature of the month)), then they use the link from that uploaded image as their signature. Attachments remain on the server, so they can be used anytime as long as the attachment is left in the post.
Using RayWiki does work too, if you do use it, just be sure to categorise the image as "Peronal Images" when you upload it, by putting this in the summary:
[[Category:Personal images]]
EDIT: Also, the maximum size recommended for a signature is 750x285.

Re: Any questions on this board?
Thanks for the help! However when I try to log in in the wiki, it redirects me to the forums and when I go back to the wiki I'm still logged out. Also, if I try to log in and then use the link to the RayWiki from the home page, it redirects me to the spanish wiki and I'm logged in, however if I try to upload an image the page says I'm not logged in.
Re: Any questions on this board?
That's strange, normally once you're logged into the forum and you visit RayWiki, you should be still logged in. Does it still happen if you visit this link directly?

Re: Any questions on this board?
When I use that link it either says that "You have requested an invalid special page" or the page tells me that I have to log in. I managed to make an edit in my own page in the wiki, my username changed from red to yellow, but the same problem persists.
Re: Any questions on this board?
Have you tried either clearing your browsers cache or else trying another browser just to rule it out? It doesn't seem to be affecting anyone else.

Re: Any questions on this board?
Hi there! Sorry about this, for some reason your account was not properly created on the English wiki, but this should be fixed now. We have single sign-on enabled, which means that if you're logged in on the forum, you'll be automatically logged in to the wiki.Elite Piranha wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2019 1:51 am Thanks for the help! The address raymanpc.com/wiki will redirect you according to the language in your browser settings, but you can use raymanpc.com/wiki/en for the English wiki, and raymanpc.com/wiki/es for the Spanish version.
And just so you know, since the Spanish RayWiki is one of our smaller wikis, there are special Ting rewards for contributing there. 12RayChienne9 and Jaster are already doing a great job, so feel free to join them!

Thanks a lot for the help! The problem was solved. I'm not very good with the wiki stuff, I may make some small contributions in the future, but I can't promise anything XD. Btw, if I plan to upload an image for my signature, should I use the english or spanish wiki?Hunchman801 wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2019 1:30 pm Hi there! Re: Any questions on this board?
Either one should be fine, as far as I know they're both going on the same server, it just depends on how the image is categorised as to where it shows up. I'm not sure if there's a personal images category on the Spanish RayWiki, I'm not good with Spanish, I only know simple things like what hola means.

Re: Any questions on this board?
Well, technically you can only upload images to the English wiki, since we use it as a shared repository. This way, we only have to upload a file once, and it's available for use across all versions of RayWiki. If you try to make an upload on the Spanish wiki, you'll be redirected to the English version.
As for contributing, no previous knowledge of wikis is needed. If you feel like creating new pages or editing existing articles, don't hesitate and we'll be there to fix any mistakes.

Re: Any questions on this board?
I have a question.
When a private message is sent to you, is there a way to actually delete it before looking into it? If there isn't, then that is all I needed to know.

Re: Any questions on this board?
Yeah, in the inbox, just mark it in the checkbox on the right of the PM, then scroll down and set the box to delete marked and click go. Another thing you can do is turn off images in board preferences before opening one if you suspect it's suspicious.

Oh right! Okay!Steo wrote: Sun Dec 15, 2019 4:01 pm Yeah, in the inbox, just mark it in the checkbox on the right of the PM, then scroll down and set the box to delete marked and click go. This is nice. I didn't realize that the option in the latter can come in handy either.
Thanks Steo! I am tired of getting private messages from a spammer whenever it gets in RPC. I just want to be honest here.

Personally I edited my global settings to stop people from sending me PM's. While it does stop spammers from PMing me, it also prevents other members aside from mods and admins from PMing me.R4Y_ANC3L wrote: Sun Dec 15, 2019 4:06 pmOh right! It is your choice. Can't argue with that. I forgot that the option exists as well. The Jonster wrote: Fri Dec 20, 2019 11:56 pmPersonally I edited my global settings to stop people from sending me PM's. While it does in fact let you save time by having to not receive PMs at all is fine. But at the same time, I think I am smart to know what is suspicious and what is not. I did follow what he told me what to do and it worked marvelously

Does anyone know if online hex editors are safe to use (just for viewing code)?

Re: Any questions on this board?
I guess it depends on how sensitive the code is. You don't know if it's being stored anywhere in the so-called cloud…
Would you consider installing one on your machine?
