Jaster wrote: Sun Oct 20, 2019 7:17 pm Yeah, I was asking because of that, I tried to find if there was a spanish version of that text since they didn't translate RaymanZone until the Rabbids came, I think. But maybe there was other sources as Hunchman said, I don't remember right now if the tribes were named on in-game descriptions, which would be nice.

EDIT: Apparently, yes, there was a spanish version of Rayman 3 website, the url is: http://www.rayman3.com/esp/, but unfortunately there isn't anything saved of it on the Wayback machine site.
Well, the last resort would be to ask someone to play the game and check the in-game descriptions or find a way to extract the text from the game files. I know, thanks to RayCarrot, that there is a game localization file for Rayman Advetures that contains all the texts, I don't know if something similar exists for Rayman 3.

I believe the fix.lvl file contains all the text, and can be similarly opened with a hex editor.

I checked the files from the CDs (PC version), there is a fix.cab and there are several .lvl files in multiple folders, for example:

knaar_20.lvl
lept_15.lvl
transit.lvl

However when I open them with a hex editor, there is nothing legible, it is just random numbers and letters.

Pretty much every Rayman game has a similar localization file. As Plum said it's the fix.lvl file under the "Gamedatabin" folder that has it for Rayman 3. All the strings are at the top of the file and can be viewed with a hex editor.

Someone mentioned here before that Rayman 3 HD on PS3 has subtitles for the dialogue. I could only find them for the cutscenes when I looked through the files though.

Each one of the three CDs has one "Gamedatabin" folder:
  • The 1st one has a folder named "Sound" that contains .bnh and .HXC files, as well as two other files named: "Data.hos" and "Data.hst".
  • The other 2 Gamedatabin folders have .lvl and .ptr files (and a couple of .cnt files).
Even when you make hidden files visible, I couldn't find the fix.lvl file.

Btw, I think you can download Rayman 3 from https://archive.org, maybe the fix.lvl file can be found in there.

It seems that I'm the only one that doesn't have it .

Thanks a lot! This is exactly what I wanted! Some parts of the text look a little bit weird (even when using ISO Latin-1 (Western Europe) text encoding), but I suppose that's normal .

I've translated almost entirely the article about the Magic Fist in the Spanish version of RayWiki, as well creating the article about the Telescopic Fist.

But I think the articles "Giant Minotaur", "Flying sword" and "Blue Punch" are translated into Spanish as "Minotauro Gigante", "Espada voladora" and "Puño Azul", right?

Great job, thanks!

And yes, we should go for literal translations since all we have is the English names from the game files.

You're welcome

P.S.: There is a problem about the Grand Minimus article in the Spanish version of RayWiki: the problem is about the size of the file about his appareance in Rayman Kart, which it's large than as it appeared in other languages' article about Grand Minimus.
Well, I will create the Rayman Legends-related articles... But I think "Isle of Doors" in Spanish is "Isla de las Puertas", no?

I fixed that for you yesterday (you used "frame" instead of "thumb", effectively displaying the image at full width).

I suppose so, though someone might want to check the Dreamcast version for this. At least, it's consistent with "Sala de las Puertas".

I found a video of Rayman 2 (min. 13:20, Dreamcast version), that translates "Isle of Doors" as "Isla de los Portales".

Ok, thanks! Also, I have created a Spanish article about Hands Down! (the Rayman 2-related comic which appeared in Disney Adventures) and I'm planning to create a Spanish article about Enter the New Hero (a short manga about Rayman which appeared in Cococoro), which I think it may be translated as "Introduce el Nuevo Héroe".
Also, if the name of the article "Dragonfly (Rayman Mini)" in Spanish is "Libélula", what it will be called the "Dragonfly (Rayman Origins)" in Spanish?

Another translation for "Enter the New Hero" could be " Entra el Nuevo Héroe", I don't know if this is correct though.

About the Dragonfly articles, I suppose the names of the articles would be:

Libélula (Rayman Origins)
Libélula (Rayman Mini)

Besides, a disambiguation page would have to be created.

Ok, so an alternative translation in Spanish for "Enter the New Hero" is another possibility because I was attempting to translate the phrase "Enter the (Insert a Noun)" in Spanish and I have not succeeded. So, this alternative translation could be a redirect when I'll create the article about this manga in the Spanish version of RayWiki.

So, how about the names of each Incrediball families (incluiding each member of these families) in Spanish? I'm planning to create an article in Spanish about the Incrediballs, starting with the families (which I'll start putting information about the Snifflers, the Green Pieces and the Rhinoz).

You can watch videos of Rayman Adventures in spanish (like this one) to find the names of the families and other texts.

You can also check the Rayman Adventures localization file that was shared by RayCarrot (you can find it here) for stuff that you couldn't find in the videos. Btw, I know that "The Rhinoz" was translated as "Los Rinos".

EDIT: Other family names that are mentioned in the file are:

Los Estormudos
Los Avinagrados
Los Li-monadas
Los Frescones
Los Peluches
Los Moneys

Since the original title of the comic is in Japanese, it makes sense to go for a Spanish translation of it. In the absence of a Japanese speaker, I suppose we can rely on the English translation we already have, so I'll let you figure a Spanish title for yourselves. ;)

Well, I noticed something weird. They're called dragonflies on the English wiki, but the French wiki says they're called "small dragons" in the game files. Might be worth clearing this out first.

I noticed that the category "Scrapped content from Rayman #" was translated in two different ways by Jaster and 12raychienne9:

Contenido desechado de Rayman 3
Contenido descartado de Rayman 2

So, I was wondering which one should stay.
