Re: Rayman Origins
Many others in the fan base are, I'd say about 90% or more don't agree with the hair creatures story.

Re: Rayman Origins
I honestly think origins and legens are in some sort of parallel universe, not canon to rayman 4 whenever that comes out

Re: Rayman Origins
honestly it feels like the series in general does so much retcons and inconsistencies that youre free to just pick and choose your own canon lmao

Re: Rayman Origins
Well, the thing is that I don't see this as an actual explanation of the origin of Rayman's helicopter hair, for me it is just a little fun sequence that it is not meant to be taken seriously. If I tried to find an explanation for it, I would say that is was a dream that Rayman had after eating something weird. Besides the existence of Polokus, who can turn his dreams to reality, makes it easier to add new weird events to the franchise, since you can say that they were just alternative realities dreamt by Polokus.Steo wrote: Tue Nov 26, 2019 5:20 pm Many others in the fan base are, I'd say about 90% or more don't agree with the hair creatures story.![]()

Well that's the way most people take it, they even made this place hair creature community on April fools day.

Re: Rayman Origins
Nice find! Not that it makes those side stories any more serious, but at least it’s good to have a bit more background on them. Makes you wonder why this wasn’t included in the end.
As for Shubamuban, it could very well refer to Globox’s species, but also to many other things, so we can only speculate for now.

Re: Rayman Origins
I restored the subtitles to the video as I found the original time stamps in the files! Sadly one line was missing, but the rest are there.
Re: Rayman Origins
It makes more sense with the subtitles because it at least shows some content, but it is weird how they weren't featured in the actual game.

Re: Rayman Origins
My question now is,why did it take so long to find?
Re: Rayman Origins
No one had a good way to check the localization files before. In a hex viewer it's a mess. So I recently built a tool which converts it to readable text for all UbiArt games which made it easy to spot stuff like this.

Ah thanks
Re: Rayman Origins
And here's Globox!
Re: Rayman Origins
The Globox One I find interesting. Everyone always said that he accidentally ate the creature, but the subtitles imply that he ate it on purpose after trying to pull its eye out. I just assumed he thought it was a berry, even though the video clearly shows him pulling its eye.

Not really. Just some mention in Legends of you being able to send Lucky Tickets to friends and them reappearing in levels every day like the creatures. Jungle Run has some unused artwork it mentions, like one with Mr. Dark. That's about it IIRC.ZelenPixel wrote: Thu Nov 28, 2019 7:04 pm wonder if theres yet more undiscovered strings in here and legends too. its some interesting stuff

Re: Rayman Origins
If I'd known about these subtitles, I would've made it the Mini-Villus-Community instead.Steo wrote: Wed Nov 27, 2019 11:44 am Well that's the way most people take it, they even made this place hair creature community on April fools day.![]()
Re: Rayman Origins
At least now we know that Globox ate a bubeastubie from a buberruby bubush on purpose now, and that one should always beat a buberruby bubush before stuffing ones belly.
