< agrees that it's nice to hear from ^^.

< is considering trying out some other Linux distros on the spare SSD, such as trying to install Gentoo. < would like to hope that anything < tries doesn't result in repartitioning the main SSD (again) when < clearly didn't have that intention. :mefiant:

Ah, I see now. :)

< has been playing FF9 for the past few weeks.

< just unplugs a drive when < doesn’t want it overwritten by an installer.

< knows you may not want to do that though.

< thinks it may be the best option to avoid hassle with losing data again. The data wasn't too important since it didn't wipe the HDDs, but it's still just annoying having to set up the OS all over again.

< is getting tired of hearing all this talk about the coronavirus < hears in the news lately.

< spent the past week working on finishing a game <'s been playing that < hardly got anything else done this week. < really needs to do better with focusing on <'s scheduled plans rather than what < wants to do. < admits that it's actually really hard for < to do so though.

< wonders if < should ask <'s aunt for advice since she's really good at planning.

< got to see into a 12-inch wafer fab today. It's rather reminiscent of Portal 2, with all the boxes and machines, the dearth (though admittedly not total absence) of humans, and the robots whizzing around on ceiling rails!

< thinks the Xbox and GameCube versions of Arena are good, they have some small differences. Of course, the only thing is needing to have modded (or NTSC) consoles to play them if you're not in the US, < doesn't understand why they couldn't release M on those platforms, and also wonders why Revolution had to be a PS2 exclusive.

< was messing with a Debian installation yesterday using apt pinning in attempt to only allow certain updates (like mesa) from the sid repo, but < can't figure out how to allow i386 libs to update from it, it seems to only work for amd64. This had < running around in circles manually updating all the required i386 libs, which caused a lot of hassle since missing dependencies relied on newer versions of other ones. :fou:

< says it was, though it's a pity that the automation is what attracts the most attention, while the most interesting stuff (etching, CVD, sputtering, etc.) is actually happening inside the nondescript boxes! In particular, when we were passing the high-energy ion implanters, the only indications that anything interesting was happening were the "HIGH VOLTAGE ON" signs illuminated at the top…

That's what < uses! Though to be honest < just chose it because it looks suave, and because < didn't want that annoying Google search bar stuck at the bottom of my home screen. How is ^ finding it?

< hasn't been able to use LineageOS in a while since the S8 never really had a good stable release of it. < hasn't looked into it regarding the Note 9 yet though.

< has been using Lineage since 2016, without any Google apps. It works pretty well for <, and < likes the relatively fine-grained control it gives over app permissions.
