< thinks Fifo would know we were just joking with him.

Re: The You Game!
< isn’t offended, don’t you worry.
<’s doing pretty good, thanks!
Re: The You Game!
< thinks it's nice to hear that ^ has been doing well. < has just spent the majority of the pandemic learning a lot about Linux. So much that < has the majority of an LFS system running pretty well too. < just needs to fix a couple of little issues here and there at some stage, most of them are just KDE related ones anyway.

Re: The You Game!
< is also glad to hear you guys are doing well. < has been playing games and working slowly on <s web development class. < is thinking of making a project of <'s own this month to practice as well, but < hasn't decided what it will be yet.
Re: The You Game!
< would still like to learn more about programming, and < might have to if < wants a simpler way to update packages on LFS. < even thought Arch would be too much for < a few months back, then same with Gentoo. < didn't think < would go near LFS anytime soon, then < just decided why not, Gentoo already relies on compiling everything anyway. The main difference is that you have no stage3 tarball or package manager for LFS.

Re: The You Game!
< thinks if ^ could do Arch and Gentoo relatively well enough, then < thinks ^ could do great with LFS. ^ definitely knows more Linux than < does.
< decided that when < finishes <'s bootcamp class (which will still take awhile, i got like 30 more sections or so), then < will start with Linux.

Re: The You Game!
< does have the system working for the most part, but LFS literally revolves around constructing the entire system by extracting and installing one tarball (package) at a time. < can remember a time when < didn't even know how to use Mint.

It's amazing how fast ^ absorbs information, it's like ^'s a sponge or something.

Re: The You Game!
< is pretty sure Jonster's parents don't have Munchausen by proxy.
Re: The You Game!
< will really look into something if < is interested. < has been really into Linux lately, and < has realised that sometimes you need to diagnose issues yourself too.The Jonster wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2020 11:19 pm It's amazing how fast ^ absorbs information, it's like ^'s a sponge or something.![]()
< was extending <'s LFS partition earlier, and <'s home partition kind of broke in the process for some reason. This somehow resulted in Firefox working properly on Plasma when it previously didn't.
Re: The You Game!
Just like < with LaTeX, eh?
Heck, < even typesets letters with it.
(Yeah, <’s sometimes old-school like that. < likes surprising people. An e-mail just doesn’t feel the same IMO.)

Re: The You Game!
Trust < when < says this, but ^ has a way of surprising < all the time.
Re: The You Game!
< just basically needs to alter a couple of kernel settings now that relate to HDMI audio and for <'s internal sound card, though < had been using a USB audio device anyway so < hadn't prioritised this.
Once < gets a controller driver installed, < thinks it's more or less the majority of it all done. < also should fix the reboot and shutdown calls from plasma which seemingly crash consolkekit too, but < was just logging out then shutting down from the display manager instead.

Re: The You Game!
< has decided that the side project < wants to do for <self will be a todo list, for a start. < just wants to be sure that the stuff < learned has actually stuck in <'s brain.
Re: The You Game!
< wonders if ^ blocked one ear would the information stay in ^'s head, since they say "in one ear out the other".

Re: The You Game!
That would be an experiment worth trying.
< tried Breakout yesterday, but < failed at the very last level with only 2 plums left. < is slightly annoyed since < felt < was really close to finishing that.

<'s glad that ^ could get a laugh out of it.
< randomly had a dream that Xbox controllers worked on <'s system, < guesses it's a sign that < should install xpad or xboxdrv.

< has been hearing of so many sexual allegations stories from companies/communities that < used to follow that < is distressed to hear this:
